Great pick by The Leafs... Finn will be a great puck-handling defenseman for the the blue and white, in the not too distant future. Great first pass, high hockey IQ, decent point shot, and can quarterback a powerplay.

They mentioned on the Ottawa pre-draft show that former Senator turned broadcaster, Jason York saw Finn play this year and came back raving about his performance.

The Dorsal Finn is a great pick. Burke said his scouting team had Finn ranked 2nd in the entire draft behind only Reilly, so it's pretty incredible that both fell right where they wanted them to.

The Dorsal Finn is going to be a solid top 4 D for them in the years to come.

Great night for Finn, he is been nothing short of amazing.

He is currently in 2nd place of OHL scoring by d-man behind only Dougie Hamilton.

Overall, He has 12 pts in 11 games, and a +10 rating.

Such a steal in the 2nd round. Solid start to the season. Hope he keeps it up

Wanted the Canucks to either pick him or Gaunce. Glad we got Gaunce, no brainer pick by the Leafs

Its nice to see the Leafs have a guy labelled as one of the top potential steals in the draft. Average out predraft rankings, and most rankings had him around ~18th or so. Its almost like trading a 2nd round pick for a later middle 1st round pick. Thats where he was predicted to go, and so far, he's been playing extremely well showing that the predraft rankings may have been a much better predictor of his potential compared to where he actually went in the draft.

Leafs need a few steals if they want to get better. Finn could potentially help with that in a few years.

Happy with the leafs taking him at 35. Big steal IMO. Had him ranked in my top 15. Some had him as high as 9. It's scary what the leafs D core will look like soon.

talked to a scout thursday at the windsor /erie game ....the best defenseman hes seen this year .....morgan reilly ......matt finn .....although he only saw reilly a bit early in preseason

Definately a steal in the 2nd round. I've watched him play and was really impressed. Solid all around. Good passer, good skating/foot speed, reads plays well and solid defensively.

I'm 40 minutes out of Guelph and still haven't seen the kid :shakehead
What do you guys think his ceiling is?

Potential top-pairing d-man. His playing style and ability to play well in all situations on the ice is Ryan Suter-lite.

Based on this, he sounds like a potential good partner for Gardiner..

Reilly Phaneuf
Gardiner Finn
Gunnarson Percy

I'm curious as to who you think he would partner well with on Toronto.
