The same could be said about people here that see a low amount of NHL games played and assume there's more upside to be unlocked...ultimately at the end of the day it's a player to player thing and Jeremy Lauzon would be far far far from the first player to reach the peak of his abilities at 24/25 and stabilize there....Not that it's a knock on him anyway, every team needs bottom pair defenders.
It isn't like Lauzon is a spring chicken in his first year. While he had only played 76 NHL games, he had played 223 professional games in the AHL and NHL including the playoffs.

It's more than a sufficient sample size to guage the potential of a player.

I don’t think 76 NHL games is enough, especially with how messed up the last two seasons have been and how the Bruins lost two veterans on the left side going into this season. Lauzon got thrown right into it and there was some good and some bad...at the end of next season we will know a lot more.

You could say the exact same thing for Zboril, the only difference is he’s played even less games in the NHL.

Lauzon by a mile. The red flag we heard about JZ in 2015 has proven largely correct. First, it took him forever to make the big club.

More importantly, questions about his committment, hustle, and (yes) hockey sense have continued. I don't really see a role for this guy on the Bruins.

It may be unfair, but if possible I would unload all three selections from that draft. See what they can get, if anything. At this point the verdict is in, and I wish they would simply move on.

Have thought this too at times. After 6 years with either inconsistent consistency(debrusk), or hardly a peep from the other 2, maybe its time for the B's management to let them go for good. And we can all bury 2015.

I feel the same way. Just put 2015 behind them. Do not tender Senyshyn and move Zboril and Debrusk for whatever they can salvage at this point.

I always go back to Zboril's last WJC. Here he was at an age where he should be among the best D-men in the tournament, a former 1st rounder. But instead he was running around, getting caught out of position, and then taking liberties on guys with the ref looking right at him (which I didn't mind but where's that mean streak now)? Or is he phony tough and just takes liberties with smaller and younger players?

I didn't even know about any off-ice concerns. But my small sample viewing I thought the red flags were glaring and said so. It appeared he didn't process the game well.

He's the Czech Jeff Jillson. World-class tools and no toolbox.

But, you know it won't happen as long as Sweeney & Neely are around. And you *they* won't be going anywhere any time soon.

So, we're stuck in neutral. Until they run the car completely into the ditch, nothing much will change. Wake me in three years.

I think it's Lauzon. His skill level is underrated and I think he's part of the solution if they can get through the expansion draft and not have him claimed by Seattle.

Zboril looks better. Smoother stride, better technique, better stickhandler, more athletic overall. But I still question his hockey IQ not a by a little but by a lot. And I'm not sure what role he's going to carve out in the NHL. He's not going to be a point producer from the blue-line. Statistically his shot selection is very poor, I have my doubts he's ever a PP guy.

Meanwhile 11 D-men who dressed for this team last year averaged more PK time than he did. Can you afford to dress a D-man with no special teams role at all? It certainly increases the responsibility to the other 5 guys.

If the Bruins can find a way to get Seattle to take Zboril over other exposed guys by adding a little sweetener then that is an avenue they should be pursuing.
This is the best write up about Zboril I have seen. It’s just all fact. Thanks

Curious to see which prospect fans think will be better next season if they are both still on the team. I think I’m still higher on Zboril still, it looked like he had more skill at times and if he puts it together consistently he’ll be a really good defenseman in the NHL.

I'll take Lauzon because you simply you know you're going to get the same effort/player every night... Zboril has some talent, but his confidence to display it was few and far between this year, super inconsistent and things may never click for him. Worst case scenario with Lauzon you have a hard nosed physical 3rd pair D.

Lauzon probably shouldn’t have been playing
He wasn’t the same player after the hand injury

Zboril has played 44 games in the NHL. He’s 24 and won’t be 25 (Lauzon won’t be 25 until April FWIW) until next year. Sure, Zboril made mistakes and got injured, but there was a stretch out of the gate where he looked pretty solid.

I’m not writing either one of them off when neither has played a season worth of games in the NHL.

I think some people on here are too harsh on Zboril. He’s shown signs of being a capable NHL defensemen let’s give him another season to see if he’s improved before we consider him utter trash.

FWIW neither was Grzelcyk.

The debate for me is not Lauzon or Zoboril . It should Lauzon or Grzelcyk if it is about who is being protected. I feel Grzelcyk is far less likely to be taken if exposed in the expansion draft than Lauzon. IMO if Lauzon is exposed he is gone.
