9-1-1 with the Jets. Always looks calm and collected in net. Good positioning. almost .940 SV% and about 2 GAA.

I just think he couldn't shine on the Oilers for obvious reason. Behind even a decent team he is a good starting goalie.

    Solid goalie through and through.

I don't know. Cam Talbot was for a lot longer. Matter of fact, Cam Talbot was an excellent starter.

He's fallen off the face of the Earth.

Not sure about that but he's been a great backup so far

Could be a Scott Darling situation - great as a backup, hell as a starter.
I like him, I'm really glad we have him, and I hope he gets more starts, but I'm not sure he's a starter yet.

See Devan Dubynk, former Oilers goalie, now a real starting goalie in the NHL.

Nah I am sure of it. Just his overall demeanor on the ice. Guy is smooth. Great positioning, solid glove hand. Will be a starter if the Jets don't sign him this season.

Why did the Oilers give up on him?

He was horrible. Im not even exagerating. he gave up so many weak goals. it was bad. I think it was a confidence issue.

He has been beyond solid in Winnipeg and even stole a game for us against Vancouver that we had no business winning.

He has looked good, but the quality of matchups needs to be considered. Hes been getting starts against AZ, Chi, Van, Det, NJ, STL, etc. His two strongest opponents were Buf and CGY, both resulted in a loss.

Looks like he'll be a cap causality this offseason, so I'm sure someone will give him that shot as a #1

Backup on good team plays well and has great numbers in limited action. Feels like this story repeats at least once a season.

11 games doesn't make someone a starting goalie.

He has been. But as a goalie enthusiast and someone who watched him in Edmonton and may not be an Oilers fan, he played like he would struggle to stick around in the ECHL, much less the NHL. Good on him for finding his game. Saying he’s a starting goalie in such a small sample size is also premature. He’s never been a starter or faced the challenges of being one in this league.

He just had to get the stench of the Oilers off of him. :naughty:

Goalies are voodoo though, so don't be shocked if he starts sucking next week.

    Because he was bad.

Jets are a good team, so that helps him look better

He is a very good backup right now, which is what we want him to be.

He took over for Hellebuyck in the Calgary game and took the loss for him.
That is his only regulation loss this season.

The loss from Buffalo was the result of a shootout which went into the late rounds.

Just go watch replays from last season. Seemed like 60% of the goals I seen him let in during highlights were very weak!
