Eugh, fine I guess. This better not mean we lose Grubauer though.

We're screwed for depth if he does as well though, we're going bargain bin shopping.

Joe caved and got bent over

IMO an NMC was always going to be part of it.

Make no mistake here fellas, this is absolutely a discount for us. If it had gotten to tomorrow, Landy would have had offers in the ~8.5M range.

Everyone involved here gave a little and ultimately came out with a contract all parties should be happy with.

Landy will retire making just shy of 100M

Glad it's done and he's back. AAV is fair and we knew it was going to a long term deal if he came back, so I'm not surprised in the least...

Now get Gru back for under 6 please.

This is higher than I would’ve gone at max term. Landy did well. It looks like Sakic caved on the final day, not wanting to lose his captain.

I’m really happy to have Landy back, but I don’t love the contract.

Id take the contract and having Landy over the possibility of losing him over 500k

This is a huge win for both Landy and the Avs. Avs stay a good team, Landy makes huge amounts of money and can win. Without Landy, who would Sakic go after? There are few forwards left.

If Gru doesn't sign the next move should be a deal with Arizona for Kuemper, Dvorak, Kessel with retention. Kessel replaces Donskoi, Dvorak replaces Saad, Kuemper replaces Grubauer.

Landy passed Sakic's test. He has earned the 8×7, full no-trade, and the keys to the franchise once Sakic retires.

All Sakic was doing is giving the same hard fought negotiating lessons that Sakic learned as a player.

You are now the chosen one Landy.

This is bittersweet to say the least. The price is ok, but full NMC? Oof.

Let's just cross our fingers that he's got 8 high-level years left.

A full no move on 8 years and we still couldn’t get the AAV down in the 6’s? Damn.

Only full NMC for first 4 years. Get off the ledge fellas and try to be happy.

I'll be livid if we don't re-sign Grubauer but gave Landeskog $7 M.

Have you seen the goalie market? It's pretty bad unless you make a trade. We have a proven #1 goalie, re-sign the friggin guy, Landeskog's offense can always be replaced.
