Wow so Toronto gives up a ppg player for one that...isn't.. and a pick they don't want.
Sounds like a real steal for Toronto
the habs will hold a spot for himForsberg will test the UFA market next summer....
If you're not going to protect Arvidsson in the ED, this trade makes sense for Poile
The someone else is not likely someone we would have gotten any value back for in a trade. No it doesn’t. It makes even less sense. Now you’re going to lose Arvidsson plus someone else, instead of just Arvidsson.
A 2nd and 3rd isn’t much value anyway. The someone else is not likely someone we would have gotten any value back for in a trade.

Just saw this now... as a Kings fan.... why?
Like... why?
He suddenly going to be like he was years and years ago when he was scoring 30+? No? Then.... why?
Nah Poile is just retooling on the fly where he can. Arvy being gone is just filled by guys like Tolvanen and Tomasino or gives a guy like Trenin an opportunity to move up.I also like this deal for LA.
Seems the Kings are quietly building a contender on a slow burn over there.
Pretty sure they'd like to be up n running for some playoff action before Anze Kopitar ages out, though.
Iafallo, Kempe, Vilardi, Moore, Lemieux, and now Arvy.... nice little core to go along with Kopy on the front lines.
Nashville looks like they may be on the verge of a complete teardown and rebuild.
If so, their best trade chips would likely be Ellis and Josi.

We made the playoffs on the backs of our young players. Oddly enough once guys like Forsberg, Duchene and Ellis came back we started to slip back into our early season look.
me personally? or the caps?not having much luck unloading kuznetzov are yous ?
It's not as bad looking from the inside. I mean yeah we need a couple of guys to keep panning out but if they do the only real weak spot will be a #1 center, which just about every team is always looking for even if you have one.I hope so.
I've always called the Predators a "complete team" only ever really lacking a true 1C, but now with guys struggling with injuries, expiring contracts, and others aging out, seems they need a lot more than just a 1C.
As a Wild fan, I definitely would want the Predators to be a threat in the division simply because I am a firm believe that tougher division competition pushes a team (in my case Minnesota), to not sit on their arses and push the envelope get to contention faster and more efficiently.
Avs, Stars, Jets, Blues...all look to provide enough competition.
The Hawks are getting Toews added back to their young fast lineup, and if the Preds do retool on the fly, to me, that should give Minnesota all the motivation they need to something more than "re-arrange the furniture" on their roster.
Man I wonder if this makes the Kings go all in on Jack Eichel
I am really doubting Blake will trade the assets it would take to get Eichel right now.Kings are not in any position to be going all in at this time....Too many unknowns with Eichels injuries right now to be betting the farm....100%, they have the assets to do it. They will be a great team with Eichel, Kopitar and Byfield.
