He doesn't have the best hands, fastest legs, hardest shot or biggest strength, but he has arguably the greatest hockey iq in the history of the game.

History of the game?? I don’t think so somehow...

On the flipside his hands, passing and shiftiness are all outstanding. Maybe not the best but certainly up there.

I remember everyone drooling over Yakupov and Grigorenko at the WJC, and Kucherov was so clearly better than both - and how impossible it was to admit that this second round pick was better than these blue chip prospects (myself included, but in hindsight it was so obvious).

He's a decent player but how many more in the league are just simply better? Even the most objective observer would point out at least 3 players. Crosby, Malkin and Ovi are easily better at this point and that's the conservative opinion. However, should Kucherov prove his level, this could be a real discussion in a few years.
