He doesn't have the best hands, fastest legs, hardest shot or biggest strength, but he has arguably the greatest hockey iq in the history of the game.
I guess you could argue that but it is a very subjective thing to measure. Most would say Gretz though.

Of course it's difficult to compare players from different eras, cause I hasn't been watching Gretzky on a regular basis, only biggest games and highlights, but Kucherov's hockey sense is insane!

Yeah the greatest IQ thing is a bit off. He thinks the game very well, but he's not Gretzky.

As a prospect, I figured this kid would be a 25 goal guy. I knew he had the skill. I never imagined he'd be what he is. I never imagined how strong his drive is. And he's getting better, too.

He is his toughest critic. I remember seeing stuff from him when he was drafted about how he was no doubt coming to NA because he wanted to play against the best in the best league. He took below value on a bridge that blew people away when he signed it. They knew they were seeing a star in the making. Then signed for well below value on his long term deal. He wants to win. I don't think he cares much about the money.

He misses a corner when his team is up 6-0 and he's mad at himself.

That's why I laugh when I saw Sharks fans trying to claim how mentally fragile Vasy was when he gave up a late goal in the last minute or two when his team was up 3. Those guys have the fire. They want to be the best. I want guys like that on my team.

I want Kuch to be pissed he missed a corner. I was Vasy pissed he let in a weak goal. I want guys that have the drive and the fire to be the absolute best. That's Kuch.

Scored 18 points as a 21 year old and will now score around 115-120p at 25 (26)

Was well under PPG at age of 23.

Crazy development.

For me it was when he came on at the end of the 16-17 season wen everyone was injured and he almost dragged them to the playoffs. Then called out Killorn.

That was wild and he’s just taken off in my opinion since around January 2017

I remember we played a preseason game against Nashville in 2013, and Drouin, Jones and Kucherov were all playing. There was a lot of chatter amongst scouts that Kucherov could end up being the best of the three. I never believed it would come true, but here we are.

Johnson is having a good year this year. Looks fast and sharp. Hasn't had that speed the last few years. Should end the season with 25-30 goals (on pace for 29.2) even though he's averaging almost a minute less TOI than he has in any year since 12-13. Palat hasn't been great. Injuries have really kept him from playing like he had previously.

Remember in 2015 when Tyler Johnson looked like the best player and the guy who made the triplets line go?

Can you imagine? Thinking the guy that went 1st overall would be better than a 2nd round pick from the previous year. Just CRAZY!

Edit: Props to the Bolts for their player development. It's downright impressive.

I wouldn't sweat it, Edmonton fans have been wrong a lot the past decade.

I have a much different take. His hands and shot are amazing.
