I hope to God it's not the Thunderbirds.
What is a Thunderbird anyway?.
Always have liked the name Kraken. Yet, would have no issue with the T-Birds. NHL Seattle could tweak the logo and give the WHL team the name Kraken. Good fit for all. Thunderbirds has the connection with aviation, native american art, and a history of hockey in Seattle. All of which the Oak View group mentioned as criteria when first discussing a franchise name.
Who is saying that?
I've heard stuff like that but that was started by someone in a reddit forum and it was just wild speculation.
Good! Call the team the "Seattle Emeralds." There's something beautiful about the way the name is said. I don't like the name "Seattle Kraken" at all. It just sounds cheesy to me.
Emeralds? Maybe if it was a WNBA team.
NHL's Seattle team to announce name on Thursday - TSN.ca
Announcing team name tomorrow.
Actually nervous. You have one chance, Seattle.
I'm kinda expecting it'll be rather underwhelming. I mean to make us go through all that darn waiting and excuses as to why they aren't revealing it yet.
By showing the Ferry maybe it could be the 'Pilots'. Don't really think so but just wishful thinking. I don't really like Sockeye or Kraken.
which they already have...Storm...
The color scheme in the fish netting has me thinking it's going to be Sockeyes.
I don't think so.
According to this the team never made an effort to talk about the Sockey(s) name to the book author or her lawyers.
I was really hoping for that name.
Does anyone know if there's a press conference for this an announcement? Or are they just putting it on social media?
Please, please, no squid monster.
as a Panthers fan living in Seattle I think I'm ready right about now for a back up team to cheer for lol...
lowkey this has Kraken written all over it. We'll see. It's going to be livestreamed in social media
lol knew it
In true Seattle fashion, they do the dumbest thing possible.
BAM, the wait is over
Welcome to the NHL!
This thread aged well...haha.
