Barkov has been good but he's had a very nice supporting cast around him.

Kopitar is at 80 points, the 2nd highest scoring forward on the Kings is Dustin Brown with 48 points. Kopi has carried this team on his back. Don't forget Carter has been out 95% of the season.

The hell he has and Barkovs been amazing.

Mack/Hall/Barkov would be my top3 picks for Hart now, with Kopitar in the top5, if we go by how much they mean to their team and have done for their team.
Malkin/Kucherov shouldn't be in races like them, they are on elite teams with elite talent.

How would you have Barkov top 3 yet Kopitar top 5 when Barkov has had a MUCH better forwards to play with.

Dustin Brown is the 2nd leading scorer on the Kings with 48 points. Barkov has Trochcheck with 65, Huberdeau with 63, Dadonov with 54, etc. Not to mention at the moment Kopitar has 10 more points than Barkov and a much better +/-.

Barkov averages the most icetime for forwards in the entire league, especially on the 1st half their depth was abysmal.
Atleast a while ago he had had the toughest D-zone starts, close to 58% by star forwards,
He has 5 shorthanded goals, again atleast a while ago he had had the most stick checks by forwars by a good margin, he's become one of the best faceoff guys in this league, he's had something like 27 points on this 20 must win games stretch. He's +ppg on the season. He's turned around Bjugstad game around this year.

Kopi has one of the best D-man in the league in LA, something Barkov doesn't have in Florida to match up against the best. Florida hasn't gotten Quick level goaltending either in net.

He won 2 Stanley cups. and he was awesome in both runs. which of your team's highest paid players have done that?
TWO Stanley cups? two years apart?

that's what I thought.

I take a 1C like that for 10M every day of the week.

Huh? What are you even babbling about, so if he only outs out 50 points a season for the enitre 8 years of the contracts it's worth it because they won 2 cups before he signed his deal? toews must have the best contract in the league then, 3 cups and only .5m more than kopitar.

The argument is that he should be playing like this or similar every year for that contract to be worth it not some worthless info you posted.

I agree with you that he should play like this if he gets 10M for it.

But salary should not be an argument whether somebody should get credit or not.

He had one sub-par year (he played injured throughout most of it). Otherwise he’s been just as good as he was when they won cups, so...what are YOU babbling about?
