I'd be surpised if Blackwood gets a ton of starts. I think Cory gets the majority of them so we can see if he's back to old Cory or if that 3 game winning streak was a fluke.

I'm all good with that plan. What I DON'T want, is Cory gets hurt and Blackwood has to play out the string with this team in front of him. I'd rather we go waiver wire hunting at that point.

And he's right on, too, about the defense. It's sad that this guy had to end his career here that way - 5th rounder in 2022 is pretty disrespectful. Would have rather seen him walk out as a UFA and just remembered the good times...

why not? as long as we dont extend him too much and risk injury if thats even possible by playing him so much just play the kid. there is 0 pressure of winning at this point. if he can't take it mentally with no pressure then how the hell is he going to handle it when the games mean something

I don’t remember the last time a goalie like him was traded at the deadline.

It’s probably happened fairly recently, but it’s not often.

Peter Budaj was taken back for Ben Bishop from the Kings by the Lightning two years ago, but Bishop was really the center of that trade. Tampa just needed to take a goalie contract back.

James Reimer was traded to the Sharks 3 years ago, but he was having a way better season than Kinkaid was. Nobody even wants a guy like Chad Johnson at the deadline when he’s on a non-playoff team. He’s the ultimate Kinkaid comparable.

This is the second time someone said something about their competent defense, yet Korpisalo has been awful there and Bobrovsky is having a down year. His second worst year there, only to an injury plagued season 3 years ago.

well theyre a huge improvement over our shitshow of a defense. thats pretty obvious. they have below league average save % and are better than average in goals allowed.
