Horvat really seems messed up psychologically. Every time he makes a bad play, misses a puck, etc. his body language looks defeated, angry or a variety of other emotions. Looks like our management has done another fine job managing our young assets (HEY BO, YOU'RE ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE CALENDAR! NO PRESSURE THOUGH!)

Horvat hasn't been good all year. I love the kid and know he will improve but he's not doing well at all and it isn't just WDs deployment.

How many good NHL teams have 2 goals from their #2 center while he leads the league in minus?

He should have graduated to #3 this year, though that was the plan before Sutter went out for 23 games.

Yeah, they have really been pushing the Horvat narrative for the new core that is eventually coming. Way too soon.

Somehow, some way, this is gillis 's fault.

I can't wait to find out how.

I am not going to blame all this on management. The really good ones can handle it. Monahan was thrust into the #1 center role as an 18 year old and handled it fine. The player Bo is most often compared to, Bergeron, was much better at 20.

As I have said before, like Bo, but his ceiling is up for debate at this point.

horvat has gotta be nursing an injury of some sort. hes bad both defensively and offensively 1 goal? in 25 games and counting sophmore slump. what happened to higgins? it doesnt help that sutter is still out with an injury and hes been thrust into that 2c role clearly he has to do it all. offensively and defensively.

Why is it everytime a player is playing bad, no matter who they are, they are hurt?

This team needs more mentors.

Burrows antics are an embarrassment to this franchise, but he was still a useful player in multiple roles so they turned a blind-eye.

Now Burrows is completely useless.

Too bad about his contract.:cry::cry:

Game was definitional in terms of telling you the state of the franchise.

Sedins are aging and more injury prone (especially Henrik). You overplay them like we did at the beginning of the season and they clearly wear out.

Players like Higgins and Burrows (to a lesser extent) are more and more washed up. Nice that Burrows finally gets paid but the contract makes no sense.

Defense is too raw and too small. Needs a total overhaul (as does the team)

Young guys have their moments but overall not ready.

Team can still scratch out wins against other bottom feeders or if they get outstanding goal tending but those wins just make the rebuild more difficult.

Team absolutely must rebuild and while the tank is no guarantee of of getting anything it is the only thing that makes long term sense. Thus all for keeping the Veys, the Pedans etc ... in the lineup.

Very critical that we make the UFAs into draft choices or prospects.

Should get Biega signed for next year.

On tonight

Vey can't play in his own end at all, nor in the other end much

H. Sedin probably shouldn't be playing. Hard to watch the struggles he is having.

Pedan remains very awkward and hard to know if he can ever improve his positioning around his net. Still lacks much anticipation and is too reactive rather than proactive. Very much a work in progress. However, has potential whereas others like Bart and Weber have none. Needs to be given every chance.

Baertschi was beginning to look like our best forward up till the injury. Hope it wasn't a concussion. Seemed more likely a shoulder.

Markstrom was a mixed bag. Real good at times but also prone to giving out the big rebounds and sprawled too much in his crease. Certainly not, however, his fault for the blow out.

People have pretty much listed the baggage on the team and I think we all can identify them. Problem is what to do with them - especially those on longer term contracts.

Why is it everytime a player is playing bad, no matter who they are, they are hurt?

He's not hurt. And if he is he'd be sitting just like Sutter.

There is merit to good players who have good track records (Henrik) playing poorly because they're hurt.

Bo has one good season and that's all we have to base it on. The likelihood of him playing poorly this year far outweighs him hiding an injury.

When Sutter comes back I'm not opposed to sending him to Utica for the rest of the season to get some confidence back and roll with Henrik-Sutter-McCann-Cracknell and see where it leads us.

Horvat is hurting the team more than he's helping right now. It's not indicative of his ceiling or his future play or what have you. It's not uncommon for players to need to bounce back and forth a bit before they really get it consistently going.

Mccann has been really struggling to do anything. Kid should be in junior

Agreed....but look who Willie saddled him with....Higgins and Burrows....arguably to worst two Canuck forwards right now....but if McCann can't figure out the faceoff dot, they need to put somebody on his line who can actually win a draw.

McCann has been fine. He played top 6 minutes and did well in them with Henrik out.

If he could be sent to the AHL I'd do it but there's nothing left for him to learn in SS Marie.
