Vityaz going for Gagarin Cup it seems. :sarcasm:

Lots of players free agents as of today, including Radulov. Let's see where this all goes from here.

I'm too hungover to read cyrillic today, but has there been any mention of any NHL-clause in Mironov's extension with Dynamo? Or is it just that blurp on their website?

Some interesting moves today, some seemingly great signings, some head scratchers. Torpedo with most of off-season work done today with 3 import signings.

From players who left their clubs really interesting to see where Glinkin ends up. Gynge announced he is leaving Vaxjo so NLA/KHL bound too, most likely.

As far as I know NHL-clauses aren't officially legal in the KHL so I doubt their website contains any info about it. I'm too lazy to go see for myself though.

Didn't know that. Thanks. And Dynamo's website just mentions Mironov amongst a list of players who extended with no further info; which was why I was curious if there were any other reports about his extension.

Yeah, after 2 straight excellent seasons from Sibir, it's disappointing to see half of the team gone. Oh well, at least the fans will now have higher standards for success.

On one hand, obviously you shouldn't fix what's not broken if you can but on the other, Sibir probably felt like they need to restructure their pay roll and those guys weren't spectacular, they were good and nothing more with exceptions being Alexeyev (Sibir obviously can't match CSKA offer) and Bespalov (too expensive/good to play behind Salak). I, for one, am actually quite excited to see how Sibir deals with this situation. Maybe they will find a new Lehtera.

Well they've signed four players this past week, most of them fairly young, Elo being the exception.

Meszaros>>>Alexeyev
"nothing special" Ullstrom had by far the best PPG and the best GPG on the team.
Vincour had 2nd highest PPG on the team and was the most physical forward in the TOP 6.

Kirill Kaprizov officially sold to Salavat Yulayev.
Andrey Nikolenko to Sibir.

Metallurg Novokuznetsk re-signed a load players, mostly their MHL players with limited KHL experience: G Starostin, D Schukin, Fatkullin, Petrov, Zaginayko, F Starchenko, Karavayev, Zinovjev, Shevchenko, Maletin, Parkhomenko, Kregan, Kim. The question regarding the team's funding for the next year is still up in the air, Evraz and the city administration have had a verbal agreement, but it's all what's happened so far.

Well Meszaros was well paid import, Alexeyev was Russian playing for Sibir for years. Finding replacement for one is fairly easy, for other not so much. Same with Ullstrom and Vincour, you say these things when they scored 30 points. Like I said, they are good but it's indeed nothing special. There are players on the market I'd take over those in a heartbeat.

What's with the mass exodus, most of these guys in general did well with the team?
Sibir GM said that he didn't like most of foreign players that he signed this season.
So it's ok that Ridderwall and Vincour are leaving the team. Ullstrom had bad season+too many injures. Meszaros wanted to play in NHL. Bespalov isn't good even for backup GK. Bobrov - nothing special. Just another 5th liner. Alexeyev wanted to play in top-club. Gimaev... I dont think that Vityaz is better team, so MAYBE Sibir doesn't want to sign him.
So actually there are two players I will miss: Meszaros and Alexeyev.

Alexeyev was Russian playing for Sibir for years
He is not just russan. He is Novosibirsk-born player. Not a star, but very good player. I will miss him...

steap, would you think Sibir will do better in next season? How are things looking there now with so many players leaving? Are you optimistic about even better replacements or a similar level, which I believe would be quite acceptable, or, I never love seeing that but are we witnessing fall of another Siberian team? A good season, plans for a new arena... I thought future looked bright for Novosibirsk but hell, I can't learn much about them. So info from Russian guys here is in fact crucial to keep up-to-date especially with Siberian & Far East teams. What seems to be more likely? A less-competent team that would be lucky to get into top 4 or 6 in East or a reinvigorated club looking forward to achieve even more? Thank you.

hansomreiste,
I don't think Sibir will do better. Team has no money for strong players. As I know Fastovsky (GM) trying to sign Norman, but he choose Torpedo. BTW we are waiting some finnish center, as I know. Anyway forwards is not our biggest problem. Our defence is very weak... We need at least 3 players in first 2 pairs.

I just realized that KHL free agent frenzy is more entertaining than the NHL one. Hordes of players migrating in every direction this week.
