he was great tonight, as I said in the GDT, the hawks are a different team with him in net.10th win for Kevin Lankinen.

KL and the team are calmer, the team plays much better infront of him
A cautionary tale to those who tend to think a career, or even a season, is based on 10 or 15 games. I really hope Lankinen can become an NHL starter. But the hero worship here was over the top.

You can go quote numbers all you want. It doesn't matter when he lets them in. He's letting them in.BTW, Lankinen has allowed 24 PP goals and 1 SH goals this season.
Imagine if that was like 12 PP goals against and no SG goals.
He'd be 2.28 in gaa
and around .930 in sv%
no imagine if he let in 36pp goals. and then 1pp goal.BTW, Lankinen has allowed 24 PP goals and 1 SH goals this season.

Obviously George is wondering just how much the bad PK numbers are affecting the overall performance of Lankinen.
Because the discrepancy is quite significant. It's not an excuse because the main PKer of your team is still the goalie so Lanks has to adjust and be better.
But what would be his overall save percentage be if he had a moderately strong PK in front of him? Would the above articles still be written or he'd still be considered the wonder rookie?
Legit questions imo. Actually the biggest one could be the vise versa, how much does Lankinen contribute to the bad PK performance? Is he the main culprit?

Lankinen was the only reason (with Murphy's amazing save in the dying seconds after that shit turd 's ass mistake)
why Hawks won tonight. He had soooooo many grade A saves tonight, multiple double saves even.
The reason the Hawks won is, they scored more goals than Florida. Lankinen was a big part of that, but Hawks played well.
Indeed, did play well, but in the 3rd alone, Panthers shouldve scored 4 or 5 goals.
