A year too long, but whatever. A decent player who can play up and down the line up and seems to like the team and city.

There aren't enough Kass' to go around, so I can live with that. It's definitely a little better than it sounds like it could have been.

Not too bad...

Best case we get him for 3x3 but had to give up 1 more year in term and little more in AAV.
One thing is certain that he would get a fair bit more in UFA.

A little too long and a little too expensive for me, but its not terrible.

Deal expires when he's 33 so it'll be interesting to see if he can justify $3.2 million in year 4.

Edit: Does anyone know if the deal is front-loaded?

I was thinking 3m per year average so its not a bad deal for either side. He is pretty young still so term shouldn't b an issue.

3 years would've been perfect but the term is more than fair, people can't expect a team to bend over a UFA to be on years and term.

Maybe a year too long, but that's pretty fair. They could trade him tomorrow for a pretty good return.

If Kassian is playing on the 2nd line does he get more than 2 million? This is terrible.

Why would you pay this guy more than 2 years, let alone more than 2.5 million?

I fail to see how this contract is a disaster as the chicken little are always going to call it.

You don't see paying a 4th line winger in 2 years 3.2 million as a disaster? For a team that can't manage their cap space to save their life?

The idea is to replace McDavid wingers that are overachieving. Not overpay them.

This is a good deal. Thought 3.25 would of been perfect, less than i expected. Maybe one year too long but we won't know till a few years

Is there another NHL team that gives this deal? Its a UFA deal without hitting UFA. Pathetic.

I’d rather it be 3 years but it’s ok. Since he’s cleaned up his life his stats are much better and he’s a nice fit with McDavid. Down the road he’s an effective 3rd liner. Cap is going to go through the roof and this is NHL average salary right now. He deserves this.

He’s not a bottom six winger right now.

His contract is overpaid by what, 1.2 million by you?

The humanity!
