Yeah both would be way too much...

One of them? Almost certainly...
Probably has to be Sergachev given OTTs situation...

Add Gourde, a 2020 1st and a couple of B pieces and Ottawa should be very happy with the return...

Sergachev, Gourde, Cirelli, Katchouk, Stephens, Raddysh, Foote, picks... There is definitely a fit in there for Ottawa.

Don't see anyone waiving a NTC which takes out Johnson, Palat, and Killorn.

Without Ryan, I think Sergachev + johnson and a pick could be the deal, though Johnson has to waive his NMC to go to ottawa and then again to flip him. Unlike Dallas, Tampa has to send both a roster player making a fair amount of dough (johnson/killorn) and either point/sergachev to make it worth ottawa's time

Ahh yeah forgot about his ntc. He might waive if they tell him right after he'll be moved.

Tampa always has 2020 picks they can deplete to make it work.

To Tampa: Karlsson (Agrees to resign with Ottawa for 8 years less than 10M per year before being traded to Bolts)
To Ottawa: Johnson + Tampa's 2019 1st + Other team's 2019 2nd rounder
To Unknown team: Killorn + Tampa's 2020 1st + Tampa prospect

Slap legit potential dynasty on Tampa after that.
That is legit pie in the sky. Multiple reasons why that will not happen and isn't realistic at all.

For a top 6 C plenty of teams can use him.... I can see CAR, DAL, ANH, COL and to a lesser extent LAK having some interest

I don’t see why COL or DAL need any more offense. Both teams are somewhat weak on defense and have questionable goaltending at least as far as having an elite goalie

How in the hell is TB going to afford that?

Yzerman has surprised in the past I suppose.

By magically shedding Johnson and Killorn's contract ala Glen Sather style. He packs some assets together that look worth it on paper and at the end of the day he's the GM that comes out smelling like a rose.

Point has to be the ask. I think they could even get Point + Sergachev if the bidding is getting really intense.

I think Sergachev has gotten a bit overrated here too. I know he's still young but he still has a long way to go defensively and could never get there (Krug, Gardiner, etc.). I'd be surprised if GMs value him as highly as hfboards does.

If this deal doesn't involve Point or Sergachev dorion should be fired on the spot.

It will, I would guess a solid prospect at D ( serga or dotchin or koe) with Johnson (waived ntc, if he doesn't want I'm guessing a young forward with a 5M+ contract will be included) + picks.

Al Morganti on Botta's SN podcast seemed to propose something like Kucherov for Karlsson (sounded more like just speculation). We have heard some strange suggestions that maybe the Lightning are not entirely enamored with Kucherov at the moment (I am not sure I would understand the reasons why if accurate).

In any event it would be trading a 28/29 year old one year away from UFA status to Tampa in return for a 26 year old with two years remaining until UFA status (I think that is the case), but one year away from RFA status and a possible $9-10 M AAV contract. I am not sure this would work from Ottawa's perspective because it is less future driven and involves a potential high cost asset in return, which may be an issue for Melnyk.

On some level, I can see the logic from the Lightning's perspective, perhaps not as much from Ottawa's side, although Ottawa would be able to sell a big name to its fans.

In any event, I expect that this type of proposal will evoke some strong reactions from fans.

no way in hell they trade Point, he is their future and they traded Drouin because Point was there to take his place. There is no one else to take Point's place

Ottawa's realistic and ideal home run deal is: Sergachev + Volkov + Koekkok + Callahan + pick

Killorn and Johnson both have NTCs, and I doubt they waive it. Callahan as a modified NTC and I"d imagine if Ottawa tells him they'll flip him to another team (salary retained, only 2 years left on his deal) it could work.
If I was Ottawa and I was only getting 1 of point or Sergachev it would be Point I would want. Trading him within the division should cost more then it would Dallas, Vegas ect......

As a neutral fan, it would be fun to see... but scary as a Jets fan hoping they can make it to the SCF one day.

That Hedman/Karlsson pairing would better than the Pronger/Niedermayer duo...

COL's defense is pretty good imo. From what I recall their fans really wanted to sign Stastny to take the 2C, TJ can be a compromise. Who is DAL 2c? Spezza? Hanzal? Not a fan of either team though so could be wrong but am just looking at their depth charts

It's gotta be Point or Sergachev.

If it's Sergachev, maybe Miller goes to Ottawa as well. Miller and Callahan are the only significant Lightning forwards with cap hits that don't have full NTCs. Taking on Callahan's full cap hit would be out of character for Ottawa. He's still owed 4.7M for two seasons and only had 18 points last season.

Won't be Miller right after signing. That's a huge faux pas.

Dallas is similar to the Islanders in that they have tons of scoring but not much from the center position. I don’t know if that’s really the end of the world although many experts tell you after April 10th it is

agree

how the bolts were able to get mcdonaugh from the rags without giving up point or sergachev is incredible, but they better get one of those two for ek

??? Point is already a better and more valuable player than McDonagh.

He's one of the best young players in the league and his value is up there with Marner.

And of course I would have gotten laughed out of the building for suggesting McDonagh for Marner at the deadline
