I would do Adam Larsson for Kapanen and Bracco.

Bracco gets his shot and if he works out then great , if not Kapanen was the prize any ways
I would not trade Kap for Larsson. Johnsson and Bracco? I would probably do that.

So? We have been offering them here since their debut in the NHL. There is practically a dumb offer everyday in the trade section. I want Georgiev - I will overpay everything for him. I don't care what Leaf fans will say for this trade - I want to hear the rest of you. If you are the Rangers will you do this trade:

Kapanen + second 2020 for Georgiev?

It's worth noting that the Leafs offered Kapanen (and Brown) for Pesce in the offseason, per LeBrun. "Good enough" likely means an asset class or two up. I don't think the market cooperates on that one; a complimentary winger is not something worth overpaying for.
I don't think it would be a class or two up.

Anton Lander was a generational Ahl player, keep your smurf!
Thick , Anton lander had value when he played in the AHL , his game didn't transition to the NHL lots of players don't. That's why there are NHL players and prospects , not all prospects work out . Jermey Bracco could be a prospect added to an NHL player A.J / K.K as a sweetner in order to obtain a defense man that's all I was saying . All the best

Justin Schultz

Came here to say the same thing. Schultz+prospect for Kapanen makes sense from the Pens perspective - if they think he can play left wing.
He hasn't been good on the left side in very short samples with the Leafs.

I would love to get Kapanen for Vatanen but I don't think Dubas is dumb enough to do that.

A deal around Kapanen for Severson would be interesting, but I don't think the Devils would make that deal.
What about Johnsson + For Severson?

Johnsson + Bracco + Timashov + Ceci + 3rd (for taking Ceci)

For

Wood + Severson

Cap hits about right for both sides. NJ gets some young talent to help their rebuild. Wood has been on the block for a number of months. Seveson is already scoring for the Leafs, so.... ;)

David Savard - 4.000 (UFA 2021)
Josh Anderson - 1.850 (RFA 2020)

for

Kasperi Kapanen - 3.200 (RFA 2023)

Aside from salary, what does Toronto need to add to make this work?
I like this as a base for both teams, but CBJ needs more. Anderson has under-performed but may be a better fit lower in the depth chart on Toronto. Savard is a solid top-4 defensive Dman. I think Kapanen would do really well alongside Dubois in Columbus.

@Viqsi is going to come down on you like the fist of an angry god

If you didn't like Gardiner's zone play you're not going to like Severson's.

I don't think it would be a class or two up.

Dubas is going to go from asking for a 2/3 with term to a 4/5 with term or another short-term solution (i.e. Larsson) 6 months later? I'm skeptical of that. I don't know about Johnsson, but the Kapanen part of the rumor seems very much in the mold of the stock "everyone's available" line you hear from a team or two every Summer.

hmm idk if he wants to save the season kap and johnsson are movable but they wont get you a solid dman on their own unless they package stuff and they are the plus .

you could prob get larsson and hope he bounces back. or russell.

the oilers want forwards and have some servicible defensemen but you wont get their good ones or anyone elses unless they offer more

I agree. I'm just saying that it seems like the internal valuation of at least Kapanen is more than his market value. Seeing his name popup in a Confirmed Trade thread would be a surprise.

He's someone that excels on the PP and there is no room for him on Toronto in that role. He also can only play RW due to his style and we have Marner, Nylander, and Kapanen on the RW. He'd be wasted as a 10 minute a night even strength player. If, big if, he excels in the NHL it'll be in a PP role.
Or he could be the new Rob Schremp, too good for the AHL but not good enough for the NHL, who knows

Outside of Toronto, we hear very little about Bracco being an enticing prospect.

Can you guys spell out what makes him somrehing other teams would covet? Many have a hard time seeing why a forward with 3 goals in the AHL would be - despite a nice AHL season last year.

I honestly don't really think he's that good. Others may disagree. I think he could carve out a niche career as a PP specialist but I don't really see him as someone that will ever really produce what he'd need to produce to cancel out his poor 5v5 play.

Here's his highlights from last year though. Can get a good grasp on the type of player he is. Has a very unique skating style. Elite playmaking abilities but he's not great everywhere else.

hasn't Larsson regressed?

Edmonton fans seem content on trading him

Kind of.

He wasn't good last year, was a bit slow to round into form after breaking his leg this year but has looked solid for the last little bit until last game where he looked kind of bad.

I can't imagine Holland would be looking to deal him unless it looks like they're missing the playoffs as he adds a necessary element to the teams defense.

He'd probably be the ideal partner for Rielly like he has been for Klefbom when he's in form.
