I've never seen a ranger D man play Crosby like that.
He's like prime Staal and Girardi never existed at 5:13 in the first vid.
He has played 5 NHL games.

*Crosby actually stops, looks at the kid and is floored.
He has played 5 NHL games.
The past 2 games remind me of McDonaghs 'coming out party'.He looks so effortless skating. Havent seen that kind of stride since prime McD.
Imagine this kid filling out his frame. Man I wish McD was still here to mentor the kid.

Where he defended against Kovalchuk and rode him into the glass for a big hit and stuff his speed. I distinctly remember the play and Pierre McGuire gushing over him
That wasn't 5 games into his career though.

why I'm that excited for KAMThat wasn't 5 games into his career though.
A young Mcdonagh that is 6'5, more athletic and has already shown flashes of offensive touch. Insane. I am trying not to build him up too much but I honestly do not know where this ceiling goes. The way he defends actually reminds me of a young McD a lot actually.
I wonder what the opponents are saying. And if he’s part of the opponents’ game plan yet.
He is doing things I’ve never seen a Rangers defenseman do.
We’ve had smaller offensive defensemen and some hard working grumpy stalwarts. But a guy like this, it’s a first. He’s strong... and lanky like Staal. but also so fast and graceful.
That was the play where the Pens announcer said he looked like HedmanNeed the clip of him rushing the puck into the Pens zone, coming around behind the net and getting back and breaking up the play from going back into the Rangers zone
There was also where he had taken control of a puck in his own zone with defender on him, and within 2-3 strides he separated himself and had the puck in the neutral zone
