I'm not blaming Etem. I'm pointing out he's not contributing on the ice. If Maroon was in he could and would have immediately taken a piece out of Benn for that cheap hit on Bonino. 45 seconds of PK time per game shouldn't be enough to claim a hold on a roster spot.

He also looks slower out there. I think some time in the AHL to find his game might be a good thing, for everyone.

I also wish Maroon was in this game to kick some ass.

Maroon is going to spend the season with this team no matter what.

Etem is able to go down to the AHL so he gets the games early so they decide. If he does better then Maroon, Maroon is expendable. But if he doesn't he will go down and Maroon will play.

It makes sense to test the rookies that don't have waivers early on.
