He and Wheeler are the major weak links of this team.

What's your best offer for Kakko? Bear in mind that the Rangers can't take on salary.
no
OP = overreaction
KK is a keeper

He was fine on kid line
they insisted on breaking that up
since LaF skating improved enuf for him to hang w/bread, that is a thing

Chytil is fine [recovery from injury notwithstanding]
He and KK have great physical tools
KK simply lacks mins to be comfy w/anybody, anytime
like most performs best when there is chemistry

stop win now foolishness
develop quality assets
Until we sell high on new and improved LaF = bring in Othmann
would do Cuyle-Chytil-Kakko

obv no sacred cows
obv anyone including KK can be had if too much on the table
but not expecting high enuf offers until
Rs listen to bern
return to kid line
or CCK as above

Teams aren’t giving you much. He’s arbitration eligible in the summer

better luck at flipping similarage contract players

If New York fans want star prices, well, he’s not and isn’t going to be a star. Good middle six player, though.

What a star price? We can't take back salary, and I don't think those that want to trade him are expecting a very high first round pick here.

The equivalent of an unprotected 1st from a bad team, or something along those lines.

See no reason for the rangers to move him
Rangers fans being tired of him underperforming to his draft status, or people cheering for him hoping a change of scenery may unlock the potential that was seen in him before the draft.

But yeah, there is no reason for the Rangers to move him, unless he would be a part of some larger trade. He's a pretty good asset for his cap hit right now.

As long as his salary stays level headed, I'm seeing a Jere Lehtinen floor with Kappo and I'm keeping that type of player as long as possible and happy doing it.

His draft position, while disappointing, isn't his fault nor his burden to bare, regardless of what fans think.

That 2019 draft after Hughes, kind of a what happened?
Kakko, Dach, both bigger forwards who were on NHL rosters at 18. Have not produced to their draft position.
Byram - concussion early in his career, seemed to have rebounded.
Turcotte - beset by injury, has not shown much at NHL level
Seider - excellent rookie year. Should be a rock solid top pairing RHD
Cozens - played well so far
Broberg - in the A,
Zegras - insane hands. Needs to learn how to play without the puck.
Podkolzin - in the A.

He hasn't lived up to his value as #2 OV and I get his lack of raw offensive production is frustrating but he's proven he (at worst) will have a long career as a defensive minded middle 6 winger capable of 40-45 points with D-zone starts and strong on the PK.

I have no problem keeping that kind of player because it's extremely valuable and he still has the offensive skills to be a late bloomer. At this point, he isn't sniffing 4m + on a long term deal anyway, so why not keep him at a good number and see if he can continue to get better offensively?

It's not like he's someone struggling to keep a lineup spot or play productive minutes.

He and Wheeler are the major weak links of this team...
completely disagree re KK,
Wheeler and Goodrow are showing their mileage tho

until the last 2 games, the whole team had been shooting mostly blanks 5-on-5,
and it seems unfair to blame Kakko alone for Zib/Krieder slow 5-on-5 production to start season

he does need to go to the net, and also shoot, more frequently
but he's been good on the forecheck, and backcheck, and has always been good along the walls

2 points in 12 games with only 16 shots? Yikes

I get that he is a solid defensive winger but woof

I saw an offer of a 1st round pick in here? That is insane to me.

Dach has looked like a top 3 pick but he may not be able to stay healthy.

Scored only 2 points, but also on ice for only 2 goals against. No other player in the league with at least 12 games played can better that.
