The Sabres did that with Drury and Briere for a season, IIRC. It got abandoned in favor of making Drury the full time captain. After they both left, they were rotating the C on a monthly basis for a while. To be fair, it's slightly different. The 3-A approach is pretty typical in the NHL these days, going back to the Bobby Orr era Bruins. The idea of a "home captain" and "road captain" was a Peters era spin that I've never seen on any other team.
Pretty sure they did as an expansion team originallyDidn’t Minny rotate captains every month at one point?
Almost every taek you ever have is disgustingThis is disgusting, and the worst of all possible outcomes. The impact it has is likely to be similar to the "Two Captains" debacle of two years ago. If you are going to retire, retire, and pass the torch. This will leave whoever takes over the mantle of leadership weakened, and looking over his shoulder wondering if the true leader will suddenly appear halfway through the season.
Almost every taek you ever have is disgusting
I would have preferred a definitive answer, yes. Disgusting is just a bit much. It's all good, I was just messing with you.True, but there is some stuff I like. I thought the Nino signing was amazeballs, for instance.
But do you disagree that Williams leaving everyone in limbo is a worse outcome than either retiring or staying on?

This is false, right? The Hurricanes have had plenty of lineups without a "C" in the past. It's possible that they had a "C" on the lineup card buy an "A" on their jersey, but I would've guessed that not to be the case.
Calling him RBD is disgusting.Well, I agree with him totally. The way his situation was handled is that he was shamefully and ignominiously stripped of his Captaincy because Rutherford had a spaz attack because a team that over performed in the playoffs and he did little to improve lost like 17 games in a row. This is a guy that had recently led the team to a Stanley Cup (yes I realize he was like a negative 1 million that year) And then that C was given to a guy who as great as he was won everything in his rookie year and just was content to mail it in from there on out.
One might even say the way RBD's retirement was handled was..."disgusting"
Give him credit though. You said almost every taek he has is disgusting and he said “true”. Kudos to him for owning up to disgusting taeks.I would have preferred a definitive answer, yes. Disgusting is just a bit much. It's all good, I was just messing with you.
I don't actually think the org was in nearly as much limbo as we seem to believe.
The fans were, certainly, but eh.
