When Raffi first blew out his knee, they thought they could just repair it, but that wasn't working so they put in the cadaver ligament, which his body rejected, so they went back in and removed the cadaver. I remember JR talking about how lots of guys played that way in his day. However, shortly after he was cleared to play again (well after his 41 game suspension) the Sharks assigned him to the AHL and then traded him to Toronto.

No one was ever going to sign him after that suspension. That was his unofficial official ban from the league.

Hertl and Labanc both in. Hertl didn’t skate this morning though. Hope just has a bug or something

On the fb practice stream with Randy and Bakes, Jamie mentioned that the flu or a bug is going around. Hopefully the guys who are under the weather don't spread it.

Why would they have Jumbo practicing with Kane and Pavs if he's not going to play? Seems like a waste of time.

Year(s) before Jumbo joined the Sharks, he had an infection from his gear. (Another reason the team steam cleans the guys' equipment regularly.)

Minor scratch became major infection. (Google search does not have one easily found article, but he was "injured" during practice January 2003, developed a MRSA infection and required intravenous antibiotics.)

Guessing they wanted to give him some fairly strong stuff to knock down the infection.
