At twice the cost.
I think Richie was on the 4th line when he was our leading goal scorer at the time he broke his leg.
Nice article on the Athletic about Weal. Staff really likes his work ethic.
Cerebral and driven: Datsyuk disciple Jordan Weal could be...
If we left Weal in Montreal, I probably wouldn’t even realize he was gone.
Do you think they would notice if we left Weal and took Price? But not his contract.
That makes me sad. Yay for centre depth
I think the important question is - Which KHL team is looking for center depth in ‘19-‘20?
He might want to get Rosetta Stone before this season is done.
If Dvo or Richy return is Weal the first guy sent to the press box?
I'd probably punt Archibald and move Kempe to wing. Rotate them out as hot/cold + you then you have an extra C in the lineup for emergencies. No need to be picky though it's all pretty samey tbh.
Archibald PKs a bit but so do Richardson/Dvorak so his competitive edge over the other two is minimal in that case and he's worse offensively.
My impression is that Weal could settle into a fourth line role nicely, but right now he looks pretty bad. Looks like he's constantly trying to do too much. Whether it's trying to impress his new team or just his terrible over-usage leaving him exposed, he's seemingly trying hard to revive memories 2C Kyvel Chipsyuk in the traumatized fan base.
It also seems to take forever and a day for new players to figure out Tocchet's system, so maybe that's an issue as well.
He has been weal good on faceoffs.
