Still should've been able to do better than a 6th round pick. 6th round pick is what you take is you're trying to be rid of him as soon as possible. 4A players even tend to be around a 4th round pick. Guys firmly on NHL rosters should be a 3rd. A 13th forward on the worst team in the league, so take your pick.

Ehhhhh. The Forward group is worse today than it was yesterday. He wasn't going to be re-signed, so it makes sense to move on, but etc. I would have bet he could pull a pick a round or two higher.

I agree he’s a better player than his surface numbers would suggest but at the same time how many GM’s are lining up for Weal? He’s not exactly their type of player.

Honestly, few contenders would be out there saying "we need a Weal type guy for the playoff run". This is fine although I thought it would be 4th or 5th. Add more picks for guys who have no future next year with us. Keep the pipeline stocked.
