It's impossible to tell whether or not this is a good trade.
Kid was literally draft just last summer.

Be honest. Have you EVER watched Dahlen play a full game?
Terrible trade. Traded our superstars buddy, and didn’t get a pick back.
No picks acquired on a “rebuilding team.
Don’t tell me it’s “hard”. Rangers acquired 12 picks in 1 calendar year. High ones too.
I mean... they were selling guys like McDonough, JT Miller, Grabner, Hayes, and Zuccurelo.
An 18 year old playing in the SHL is pretty impressive...Guy is producing worse in the SWE-2 than Dahlen ever did and really worse than Dahlen in the AHL
Dahlen was probably never going to make it, all his points come from PP and he's super perimeter. But he finally was looking a bit better. What do Canucks scouts see in Karlsson? I don't have a read on him, but he played in the SHL last season and was a third rounder
Granted plenty of talented prospects never made it based on their poor skating, but it's more likely that Dahlen becomes better at it than Karlsson suddenly becoming smarter and more skilled.Based on..... he can’t skate.
Yeah that's why he's intriguing. And his time in SuperElit last season leading his team in points. Just surprised he isn't producing better in SWE-2 this season after an impressive draft yearAn 18 year old playing in the SHL is pretty impressive...

Basically both Benning trades that were so applauded in Goldy and Dahlen have resulted to nothing.
Maybe Dahlen was getting top 6 minutes and Karlsson is getting bottom 6 minutes with worse linemates.Dahlen born in late '97: 2016-2017 season - 44pts in 45 games in Allsvenskan
Karlsson born in late '99: 2018-2019 season - 17pts in 48 games in Allsvenskan
