Two first rounders unprotected, and Broberg is a good offer. That gives Anaheim one lottery pick with its own in this strong 23’ draft. A middle first pick this year or better, one unprotected next year. And also Broberg.

Then you add whatever Verbeek has planned at the deadline? 😮

Edmonton wouldn’t offer that though with Anaheim. It’s a pipe dream. But that’s a very very strong offer for Mintyukov
You make no sense...On one hand, you claim the Ducks shouldn't keep all of their draft picks and would be better off trading them away for an older player who doesn't fit the Ducks rebuild. But then, say that they should trade away their elite, top 10 pick from just a few months ago, for more draft picks and a player who's not lived up to his draft position. Which is it? You're contradicting your own posts.

That player also seems to have injury issues.

Dudes only had an account for a week and he's already nearing the top of the list of Ducks fans with the most consistently bad takes it seems like sometimes he just comments for the sake of commenting and doesn't even know or believe what he's saying

There’s no reason for Anaheim to have 3 second round picks, and likely adding more this deadline. Verbeek has already drafted plenty in 22 with em. And you’re adding more? Yah they can be used in a deal somewhere if need be
Ducks were out of playoff contention in late October and sit with 3 regulation wins this season. They were one of the worst NHL teams after the all star break last year.

Their AHL team is even worse. This is a franchise that desperately needs as many picks as possible. The time to trade for a Tyson Barrie type is when the ducks have a real NHL coach, a team that isn't the softest in the entire leagues history, a real nhl roster and that could be many years away.

Pretty sure he’s been on HF for years…under multiple accounts. His posts are too identical with a few other accounts’ posts.

I have to disagree, if there’s a deal to be made to help the main form of the Ducks? They will look there first. Being a NHL organization isn’t JUST to make sure it’s AHL franchise is fed well. But the main team also.

Anaheim has 3 second rounders. Likely adding more with Klingberg, and other players that will be available at the deadline. Anaheim drafted 2 firsts last year, two seconds, and more. Adding more seconds when they already have 3 this draft doesn’t make sense when the team clearly needs someone if it makes sense for the main club.

My opinion though, agree to disagree

Edmundson (50%) + MTL 3rd vs EDM 1st + Pulju

EDM gets its 6'5'', experienced, mean & defensive LHD at 50% for 2 runs
EDM gets away from Pulju (cap dump for a 3rd, that's generous, when even he is unsure he belongs)
EDM sheds salary while improving
MTL gets the 1st they have been looking for
Just because he has zero offensive skill doesn't mean he's even good at defense. Dude turns over the puck almost everytime he touches it. It's not 2019 or 2020 anymore; injuries have destroyed his game

Injuries haven't destroyed his game. He took time off during the beginning of last season's and this season, and did a good job afterward. This injury is not new, and has been ongoing since 2018. He can still play through it, and doing so at his usual capacity and success. Just because you'd like to think so doesn't mean you are right.

He tops the league with shots blocks per 60 minutes right now. Not 4 years ago, now !

And he currently plays with a rookie who plays on the wrong side.
On what is considered the first pair, against the opposition's best players.
On what is considered a weak team.

He might not be worth a 1st by himself, but with 50% retention and a dump coming the other way, I can feel it.

Montreal doesn't need to get rid of Edmundson, they can get that 2nd + B prospect value being offered next year at TDL. But they would like to get value out of him since all the young nhl ready LHD are ready to step in while we are not looking to contend.

Last option looks better for me. Reading all these teams by media that they need to dump cap. Someone is going to offer a first with a dump back. And Anaheim, Arizona, Buffalo has that availability

You have to understand Anaheim isn’t that great right? Throw him on any other playoff team he would have his normal numbers
But he himself chose the Ducks to sign with in hopes to improve his value, assumingly by being the go-to PP guy

I don’t get why the Oilers would need Klingberg when they have Barrie, Ceci and Bouchard on the right side. A second pair left dman makes a lot of sense though.
Agreed that Klingberg is definitely not the answer, but that’s a terrible right side. Barrie and Bouchard are both good offensively but awful defensively, and Ceci is passable defensively but just not very good overall.

Edmonton are 3rd in the league in goals for, but 25th in the league in goals against. That’s not just their dmen, but they’re a big part of it. Edmonton aren’t going anywhere in the playoffs with a D that sucks defensively. If I were them I’d be looking to upgrade both the left and right sides, with dmen who are much better defensively.

Most turnovers in 2022, I don't see Edmundson's name in there:
(Isn't he supposed to be top1-5 worst ?!)

He is 18th this year, behind 4 EDM players, all that playing with a rookie on his wrong side, for a worst team, against the best players of the opposing team. (He would do better on a 2nd pairing with a vet)

While Draisaitl, McDavid & Nurse are in the top 7, who would want these players, right ?!

If the Oilers really wanted a shot blocker they would have brought back Kris Russell(All time shot block leader)
You can't provide anything that says Edmundson is a solid defensive dman. He's a clear liability

On a rebuilding team, where he plays #2 role when he should be #4, it is not saying much...
Again, with a rookie on his wrong side, against the opponent's best players.

If they’re young players then sure, otherwise GMPV will continue to plug holes without wasting assets until the team is competitive enough to spend assets for immediate help. The Ducks need assets to acquire young potential talent for both the AHL and NHL level.
