Would JP plus Barrie for Klingberg make any sense? Mostly to free up cap room next season for Edmonton, they would still need to address their LD and forward depth.

I’ll take that for Anaheim + 3rd round pick. bring Barrie to Anaheim for our speeding forwards. They deserve a gosh darn PP specialist. And Fowler will be our back end like he always does

That makes Edmonton worse though. Klingberg is worse than Barrie.

Lebrun is just regurgitating Spector’s bad info.

Mark Spector is the Sportsnet best write for the Oilers but he’s never really been an insider. Last year McDavid absolutely blasted him then pulled him aside and tore a strip off him. Since then he’s been pretty hated witching the organization and they’ve effectively locked him out. These days he spends his time writing antagonizing click bait and hit pieces on players.

Klingberg wouldn’t fit under the cap, they have a full right side and he’d be redundant with Barrie, who’s better and cheaper than Klingberg. He’s also a big part of the dressing room, he’s going nowhere this year.

Edmundson is more what the Oilers need but injuries and his terrible play this year wouldn’t make him a great candidate. They need to meaningfully upgrade their second pairing, not spend assets and cap space on a marginal at best upgrade. They need more time to see if his play improves and also to let the marker develop. Edmundson should be option c or d if they strike out on better ones.

Hate to up my offer. But in my opinion? Verbeek wasn’t scouting the Canadian franchises for nothing that’s our GM Especially Edmonton.

Klingberg from us + 3rd =Tyson Barrie. If not? Anaheim can offer our seconds that we acquired. We have 3 seconds sitting right here disposable. But no Klingberg, we sell Klingberg at the deadline. Fair?

We take your cap issues off while you push for the cup as well

The Oilers would probably rather keep the cheaper, better player. Barrie is an important part of the team and a big part of the dressing room.

Tried my best…. Anaheim does have extra picks for someone like Barrie. Our GM just didn’t goto Canada to scout. He’s trying to make a deal. Especially over the holidays

Fair enough but I think as I pointed out earlier Klingberg is expensive and redundant and the Oilers likely wouldn’t be interested in parting with Barrie this season.

Verbeek taking in Edmonton is most likely a Puljujarvi deal. Holland is probably standing firm on his ask and Verbeek wants to get a really good look to decide if he’s going to meet the ask or walk away.

What picks does Edmonton need? Do you really think Anaheim GM Verbeek? decided? You know what I want to goto Canada this morning. Yah? It would be nice to see some snow and family.

Fair enough, Pulju doesn’t move the needle in the slightest. Anaheim defense is atrocious. Got a gut feeling he’s looking at defense. Getting 45 shots a night doesn’t work. And no GM says F it! I’m going to scout from Sunny California. It’s Barrie I bet my bottom dollar

Well if Anaheim needs D then Edmonton isn’t the place to be shopping lol as theeyre in the same boat. There’s really not alot on Anaheim’s roster that would be appealing for Edmonton. Possibly Fowler but cap would be hard and his trade protection likely makes it a non starter.

If they were after Barrie it would likely have to happen in the off-season for picks

No GM during holidays travels to Canada from Anaheim. I offer two seconds… and a contract you want to get rid of for a third in 23’

Anaheim has been askin for a QB for awhile now. That’s my offer for Barrie

If Anaheim was smart? They would get Barrie. Kid matches the exact style of Anaheim. Having the fastness to Zegras will score goals. Noah Warren will handle the board battle.

Anaheim does have its heavy hitter coming, just need Barrie to direct us imo.

Noah Warren is our last cut from the roster btw. Kid is 6’4 240 amazing skating and a hard hitter. Throw us Barrie? Can’t wait dude nasty

I’m not a gm or Verbeek’s secretary so I can’t tell you why he’s travelling all I can tell you is that it’s highly unlikely the Oilers are considering dealing Barrie. He’s playing very well for them this year, even his much maligned defensive game has been quite a bit better without sacrificing his offensive contributions. Plus like I mentioned he’s very popular in the room and with the teams leadership core.

I’m very confused by your convoluted offer but the point remains the Oilers probably aren’t dealing him right now unless it’s in a deal they really wouldn’t be able to turn down.

Based on on what note? Our entire forward team as you can see are fast forwards that’s the agenda. Same fast forwards you see on the east coast. Having Barrie only makes sense going foreword. A GM didn’t get out of his chair for Pulju in Canada

And if you’re confused of my offer? I offer two second round picks this year, plus a cap dump you want. These picks are highly valuable this year. And I’ll give Anaheim third for youre trouble.

Anaheim gets picks back on deadline

I can tell you have great interest in Barrie and that’s fine but I don’t see Barrie being the guy of interest for the Ducks. He’s not going to turn Anaheims fortunes around this season and I’d imagine he’d just take development time away from Drysdale when he’s healthy.

It was pretty clear Oilers were showcasing Puljujarvi during the two games Verbeek took in. He took shifts in a variety of spots including on the top line and pk.

Barrie probably isn’t for sale unless they were making a deal for a top end defender. Trading a valued roster player for draft picks aren’t the kind of moves a team generally makes when they are expecting to be a playoff team.

So you think we went all this way for someone we already got? Pulju makes no sense here. We can fill that role rather quickly in the AHL. If he is a cap dump fine, but we have been looking at Barrie all along
