Yes, which is what makes it funnier. It's not a 2020 3rd because the Sabres sent that pick for Skinner.
Vesey is what he was: a 3rd liner that got played too much sometimes. With the depth we have coming on the wings, we didn't need him on his next contract. Have fun with Eichel, Vesey.
I’m thrilled. As I’ve said many times I would have given him away for free. He’s not a bad player. Not at all. And straight up buffalo wins that deal big time. But jimmy Vesey I just don’t know what he is as a hockey player or who he wants to be. Just a weird player. The cap and roster space is more valuable to us than the player.

Honestly though.... As much as I couldn't stand vesey... I'm kinda surprised his value was so low. He's a 15 goal scorers.. you'd think that would get a 2nd or a few 3rds.

Not a bad return for a guy who cost nothing in the first place and may not have wanted to be here.
this is why I don't think buyouts don't make sense...we can move out salary via trades. would have loved to get a 2nd but if the point was to clear some cap space it gets the job done.
