Hiring the new Head Coach is Domino #3.

Sweeney . . . Bergeron . . . Montgomery . . .

Who/what comes next? Krejci/Pastrnak/coaching staff/draftees/free agents/trades?

It's great to see positive movement toward another successful season for the Bruins.

His teams pack their own end and can't score to save their lives.

The 1 year in Dallas they were 2nd in GA but 29th in GF. They missed the playoffs despite getting .934/1.98 from Bishop.

Every thing people say about Claude hating offense and wanting to win 0-0 is actually true with Montgomery
I vaguely remember that, but that is the only way this team will be occasionally competitive.

Hell baby
Players did seem to like him.

When he was fired Seguin said: I was looking forward to him being my last coach in Dallas."
Benn also said "this one was a little tougher, I had a great relationship with him. I loved playing for Monty."
Joey Mac: Former Bruin and current NHL player on Montgomery: “Jim Montgomery is great coach and even better person. The guys will love playing for him and he will make this team a contender.”

Can the Athletic hire Joe McDonald?
Very nice of Torey Krug to say that about him

I like the hire as well; can't say I knew a ton about every single one of the candidates but I am glad they went with someone from outside of the organization and I like what I have read about Montgomery.

Welcome to Boston!!

And not just (gag) "competitive," Sinden style (and, I fear, Sweeney style). From what little I know, they will play hard, they will finish their checks, and MM will not accept poor play.

I like it.

Months ago, I read about Montgomery's time in Dallas. It was not a good look. But, he appears to have righted the ship.

Whatever happens -- and I don't think we're in Dave Lewis territory -- I am rooting for him.

Welcome to Boston, sir.

Wait, what?

"He's hip.

"He's bald.

"He's Alex Auld." (TM)

Not an expert, but do a little digging. An intriguing selection.

Give him a chance.
I am giving him a chance....I'm just not sold. For the record, I didn't like when they hired Cassidy
as I'd heard he constantly threw his players in Washington under the bus. However, I did come to like
him to the point that I felt it was a huge mistake to fire him. (Cam's birthday present to himself on June 6th??)
He was a good coach for the Bruins that was a consistent winner even though he didn't have a full
slate of good players.

So maybe I'll come to like this hire, but for the moment I'll take the wait and see approach.

I certainly won't wish him bad luck. I hope he does well...time will tell.

The Joey Mac ‘official Bruins news breaker’ is a very entertaining

Since appears Dastardly Don has Fluto’s two Athletic columns on his ‘to do’ list - doing the opposite of what Fluto said would happen

Gotta figure next is sign Krejci and extend Pastrnak
