i imagine they'll get him in for 1-2 practices...but maybe i'm wrong

The Jets won't be practicing at all on this road trip. If Maurice want to have a look at him, it will have to be in a game.

Good on him for thoroughly earning it.

Good on the Jets for making sure gets a taste of the NHL and goes into the summer with a bit more in his bank account.

Think they've got a couple more plus emergency recalls?

I think Hutch was here on emergency recall when he was injured. So he went back down. Not sure but I think that left them with 2. Niku would leave 1 more.

Nah but he gets one less full season on his resume. Is 81 games that much more energy than 82 games?
guessing you've never played sports 3-4 times a week consistently.

the quick answer: YES.
you rest up some aches and pains. 3 days in a row without getting smacked around heals you up real nice if you're aching.

I think they have used all four now

I took the time to go thru the NHL transaction list from each day going back to the trade deadline.

Official list includes:

March 8th-Hutchinson
March 10th-Poolman
March 14th-Comrie (emergency recall)
April 1st-Niku

So there should be one remaining recall.

Comrie probably stopped being an emergency recall when we sent Hutch down.

Is Morrissey aching, though? I like idea of resting players and getting them into shape but unless they are genuinely injured I don’t think it’s workable in many cases.

1 Roslovic (paper at TD)
2 Hutch (paper at TD)
3 Poolman
4 Niku

That makes 4

It's also good to get him in a game or two in the NHL before perhaps having to play in a playoff game.

He's earned the recall but rather have him get his first 2 or so games in while the regular season is winding down.

No # 8 though.

Hutch was injured as was Mason hence the recall.

Hutch going down doesn't change the fact Mason is still injured, leaving us with 1 NHL goalie in Bucky.

I can't be sure certain, but I doubt that counts towards a recall.

I'd like to see him paired with Byfuglien to start. That's how they introduced Morrissey and Chiarot.

I could see this happening - Buff can be very dominant in his own zone, and can shelter players pretty damned well. Witness: Chiarot, Clitsome, Morrissey when he started out, etc.

Morrissey - Trouba
Niku - Buff
Morrow/Chiarot - Myers

Allocate the TOI according to how well he does. Push that pair down to 3rd pairing if required - Buff will get his standard PP time to make up for it.

Roslovic?

None of nhl.com, rotoword, tsn, ect list this transaction.

I realize these paper deals occurred, but obviously something is up with this.

I was on board with Aavco's definitions of what constitutes a recall & thought we were out of callups as well.

Niku's recall proves this wasn't the case.

1 Roslovic (paper at TD)
2 Hutch (paper at TD)
3 Poolman
4 Niku

That makes 4

Hutch was called up again March 8th.

That would make 5.

Feb 26th Hutchinson
Feb 26th Roslovic

Which is why I didn't list these transactions. Math didn't add up. Still doesn't.

Normally I'd scour a few more sites to figure this out, but busy today. Kinda killing time right now waiting for a client to show.

The AHL lists all the paper transactions that happened at the TD

Here are the two that apply to Hutch and Roslovic

Hutch's March recall was emergency basis when Mason got hurt
