It would 1oo% just seeing what both players have done and Chevy at the helm Morrissey and Slavin I consider 2 very similar playersMorrissey under 6 would be a steal in the same zip code as the Schief contract.

Yep, except when Lanie, Connor, and Ehlers joined the team there was no Ehlers Connor or Lanie. We didn't have great young players. I imagine they take their time with Ves so that he is cheap while everyone else is expensive unless he really blows the doors down. I know he is playing fantastic in the Liga but until he really shows something in the AHL or in TC I don't see the Jets hurrying. Isn't Niku a Ld? For D I'd rather put Niku with Buff and Chariot and Poolman as your bottom line. Morrow as your 7th d and Kuli gone. Doubt Ves beats Armia for pp time when Mo likes Armia there over Rosie because of his ability to maintain control of the puck.Seemed unlikely Laine would play most of his rookie season on the top line, as it did for Connor as well. To me it makes sense that you’d want your high skill/defensively deficient top rookie playing alongside two of your team’s all-around players. Just following that logic with Ves.
I understand the amount of contracts to pay out this year, but Enstrom/Myers/Mason would get you nearly $15m freed up, on top of the salary cap’s estimated increase of $3m-$7m. I really don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest a deal could be made with Stastny, especially if we go deep this year.
Getting rid of Petan is to sweeten the pot when looking for a 1st round pick. If he’s not making the roster, he’s simply an aging asset at this point. Better to cash out on him while there’s still a premium for his potential elsewhere.

If you move Stas and use Little as your #2 you need to break up Wheeler and Chef and put Wheeler with Little. Essentially Stas's line would change centers with Chef and then 2nd line Connor Little Wheeler.I think it’s wishful thinking to think Roslovic can step into center next year and bring more then what Little can. But, IF he can, we’ll be a strong contender next year again.
He's a rental for us. Unless he's willing to take something along the lines of 2 year 5 per (which he won't) he'll be gone.Greeting Jets fans, quite a few Avs fans have been throwing out the idea of signing Stastny this offseason as he'd make a lot of sense for us, do you see him re-signing with you guys? Or is he more of a luxury at this point?
We lack the cap space to sign him. Plain and simple.Greeting Jets fans, quite a few Avs fans have been throwing out the idea of signing Stastny this offseason as he'd make a lot of sense for us, do you see him re-signing with you guys? Or is he more of a luxury at this point?
the issue is beyond next year. Stastny won't be signing a 1 year deal. Brassard was only signed for 1 year and the Jets could have let him walk when the Laine and Wheeler extension kicks inSo Chevy was prepared to pay Brassard $5mil next year. So offering that to Stastny cannot be dismissed. I wonder how he was thinking of making that work though money-wise.
If Stastny is willing to sign a 1 year $5 M deal he will be a Jet next season and Chevy will be doing cartwheels. Problem is he likely looks for something north of $6M longer term.So Chevy was prepared to pay Brassard $5mil next year. So offering that to Stastny cannot be dismissed. I wonder how he was thinking of making that work though money-wise.

I know this is a longshot because most RHD don't play the left side, but can Trouba be a LD long term if a team (say the Islanders were to acquire him?
His official reason for holding out was he didn't want to be a LD, so doubtful
Would Barzal be happy to be a 2C on a contender?I know this is a longshot because most RHD don't play the left side, but can Trouba be a LD long term if a team (say the Islanders were to acquire him?
