Seattle's list comes down to:

Skinner, Girgensons, Eakin, Okposo, Miller, and Ristolainen.

That's with protecting Borgen. If the Sabres choose not to, then he goes to the list up top and Risto is probably protected.

GL to Seattle

Eakin wouldn't be a bad selection, given his expansion experience.

Part of me wonders how open Skinner is to the idea of moving to Seattle(even though it's very unlikely that happens)

It honestly would have been hilarious to me if Skinner, knowing there's no way he's selected, just straight refused to waive lol.

Wonder if Suter was asked to waive before being bought out. Don't think Seattle would have taken him either.

Take Risto, and hope he can become a good top-4 defenseman now that he'd be away from the tire fire that is Buffalo. At worst- he can play top PP minutes, bring a physical presence to their 3rd pairing, and be gone after this year (or traded at the deadline) if he doesn't fit into their plans for the future. None of the other players are worth a look.

It's up to the Sabres now. Risto or Borgen to protect. I protect Borgen. Not sure Risto gets claimed. That contract seems steep in today's cap world.

The only thing cancerous about Skinner is that contract.

Skinner skates as well as ever. He's top 10 in drawing penalties. He simply can't shoot. He was 6.3%. Personally, I think he can tick that back up to 11% 12% and be a 25-goal scorer, worth nowhere near $9 M or even half that.

Do you feel the same about Lucic?
Honestly yes haha. Just such a ballin move in a way. Though I was never really worried about Lucic anyways. It was highly believed that he was spoken to while trsding for him bringing that up.

Even then, I don't really take hockey that seriously anymore anyway, haven't for years, so I'd have found it hilarious anyway

Impossible to not like the person. Skinner is a team player.

A shame his contract is what it is though.

A team player would not play terrible hockey like this after signing such a handcuffing contract. Skinner got his big payday and decided to quit his teammates.

If this guy was in a market like Montreal, he would be scared of showing his face in public

I like team chaos.

I want Seattle to offer sheet Elias Pettersson. Instant rivalry!

Team players don't take insane contracts they can't live up to and screw the team's entire salary mass structure.

Seattle better take Borgen now. He will be a beast and will flourish outside the Sabres organization.

Yeah haha that would be hilarious.

Ever since I went to a game with a childhood friend whose a Wild fan, here in Calgary, and the Flames wiped the floor with them that night, I saw him get progressively drunker and drunker in depression and anger. Then after the game he went into Cowboys Casino beside the Saddledome, and despite me trying to stop him, he was absolutely wasted and in an awful mood, and he blew almost a grand at the casino, just pulling out two hundred, immediately losing it, repeat.

Since that night, I resolved never to let hockey ruin a single day of my life ever again. Will I get annoyed? Sure. But I'm not going to be sitting here fuming mad complaining constantly, I'm not going to care if we lose or suck every season. I got enough stress and issues in my own life to not have a game, for entertainment, that's for the profit of a bunch of millionaires get to me that seriously.
