Stick handling and moving the puck quickly and precisely is a big part of playing defense in the modern game though.

The last 2 fingers. They are taped up and inserted into a modified single digit glove (4-finger glove).
As a left shooter, i used to grip the buttend of the stick without my RH pinky. Felt i had even more control this way.
Ikr. Just thinking LH pinky for me i could do.. but ring finger too on the heavy hand. Damn.
