Hawks don't really need offense from the defense, they need defense from the defense. They were dead last in the Western conference in goals against by a staggering margin, and 2nd to last in the entire league behind Ottawa.

God thats awful for Chicago.. I dont buy it.

I cant wait to see a team fork over a crap load of money for him. He will win the offseason title for most overpaid free agent

Lol, whoever gets him if they make playoffs will love his blunders.

I have a feeling if he signs somewhere other than Toronto we'll just stop hearing about these blunders altogether that everyone likes to talk about so much. They're drastically overblown in TO because there's a city bylaw that says we've gotta make somebody our scapegoat every year whether it's warranted or not. The treatment this guy gets here is absurd IMO.

Here's to hoping this is one of the things Russo's right about these days.

I hope Bergevin doesn't try to get in the mix. Stay away Bergy, stay away.

He’s going to get overpaid by quite a bit. He’s a good player, but once you get into the silly season, it can backfire in a hurry. Teams overpay and give too much term and then you realize quickly the player isn’t worth the money.

Whoever signs him is getting a very good player.

Sure he has his gaffs but the positives he brings far outweigh the negatives.

On a more structured team he should really thrive.

Ya, not a team that already gave up the 2nd most goals in the league this season.

Gardiner is a pretty good player and basically all the stat's back that up. The hate he gets is absurd and it will stop once he is in another jersey.

This one will be all about the contract. The guy is a number 3 who has some brain farts at times. Nice to see Hawks really want a top 4 LHD

Gardiner took the heaviest defensive minutes and still put up over 40 points. Hes a good player.

Two things though, hes prone to about three really bad giveaways a year so get ready for those and he had some rough injuries this year regarding his back. He's a good player and I wish him well.
