The question was not if hes worth more then Makar or Heiskanen or if he benifited playing with other good players. It is if anyone would sign him as a UFA this year at 9.5 for 7 years. I think he would certainly have a market.
No, klingberg thought the same, "ill go ufa and get a big offer with term" then had to settle for a 1 year prove it deal. Now he is guaranteed to not get a big offer with term and looked washed up

Seth Jones based on the year he is having, would wait, twiddle his thumbs and then be forced to lower his price to a 1 year prove it deal.

Flyers need offensive centerman and RH stay-at-home for Cam York. If someone can propose NHL-ready prospects at this positions - well, it would be nice
Hence the LA discussion: 4 on roster and 3 prospects including Clarke A+.
But real light on LD. Philly has IP, Sanheim, York. Seeler can play 3rd pair. Andrae nice prospect.

IP had his best off output in 17-18. Ghost also had best season. Top 4 Flyers all played 82 games and had monster seasons: Giroux 100+ Pts, Couturier 30+ goals, Voracek 80+ pts (best season).
I feel like IP would enjoy playing in more offensive-minded system.

Philly was an average offensive team who played really well that season defensivly as a team. Philly was not a good team but find a way to play a solid 200 feet game

As a team Edmonton actually is 1 of 5 worst defensive group of NHL foward+... they are build like NHL had been played in 80,90 s... thats where the difference is...im not sure if a player who try to find his game back, its kind of team that will help him for this goal

No he wouldnt. Klingberg declined an 8x7.25 at 30 years old vs a 7 year contract for a 28 year old who has very similar production and skillsets with a cap increase would be right around where hes at.

Klingberg having a bad agent doesnt change anything.

Flyers have been criticized for never developing their own dmen and having to overspend in FA for them.
They have developed a 26 y/o top pairing dman so why trade him for prospects or draft picks when most of their core line up is 26 and under (Konecny, Farabee, Frost, York, Tippett, Sanheim, Hart).
They will be shedding a few of big contracts JVR, Ellis, and possibly Atkinson.
Likely to have another top 10 pick this draft.
Keep the maturing young guys. Get Coots back, hit on a draft pick and sign a free agent.

side bar question: how are the flyers shedding Ellis? Is he LTIR for ever?

Really like Ellis, hope we see him again.

Forever LTIR or buyout it seems. He's not gonna play again, but his contract was not frontloaded. He's still owed like $24m over the next 4 years, so he's not gonna retire that away.

I think there’s definitely elements of hastening a trade and/or exit by creating a situation that is too untenable. He doesn’t have to worry about getting value, just as long as he gets to the getting. Things have been going a bit too well recently for the Flyers - literally as the team has played out of getting a top 5 lottery slot, and there hasn’t been some kind of controversy for a few months.

He’s long been said to be increasingly unhappy, there’s been rumors both new and old, locker room issues that’s endured multiple coaching changes, he had his A taken away (so have others, except Laughton), and leaders on the team have been involved in local LGBT initiatives. Very well could be lighting the fuse to the dynamite and taking cover. It’s increasingly clear that it’s a situation that’s been allowed to sit for too long and is now blowing up.

with the development tonight. Trade value takes a hit.

He is probably blacklisted by 2/3rds of the league now at least. He also has a 6.25m caphit for the next two years. Don't think the Flyers will get anything noteworthy back here.

Kulak + Puljujarvi + Nemelainen is what EDM offers now .
I’m hot after Puljujarvi, so sounds good to me.

No doubt the Flyers are gonna come to work wishing they could get half of what they could’ve had 2 weeks ago.
