Grebeshkov and RNH are probably classified as "day to day" and therefore are not on IR.

Howson still said that no one will start the year on ltir(Gregors show). Which means the oilers believe rnh or gagner have a chance of being back before 10 games.

I don't think he's going to be out until Nov. 1, that always seemed a little long. I don't think he's too far off (no idea why, just a hunch), and they're just keeping it quiet until he's 'ready'.

If a player is on IR they can't play for a week. A player on LTIR has to miss at least 10 games and 24 days.

I think that's right. So that may mean RNH is possibly an option by next week. However, I think this is all a dance to manage the salary cap.

They currently only have $683K in cap room, and the LTIR is designed in such a way that you probably are only using it if your guy is out for a very long time as you'll still have to count the salary when he returns. Since they needed to drop two more players to get in under the cap and have a little room for future trades/signings, no need to IR the guys closest to returning just in case a miracle happens and they are ready.

ANY-HOO, let's just all cross our fingers that the Nuge is back really soon so that we Oil fans don't need to suffer this year. I'm 100% positive that Oil fans do not deserve to suffer.
