If you take into account the pieces he started off with, the two compliance buyouts, the depth of the team he inherited, the TOTAL free reign he had (no president to report to, direct line to the hands-off owner, Geoff Molson), the unlimited budget so he could bury contracts in the AHL willy nilly, the low expectations of the fanbase who are happy with whatever the Habs give them both in results and entertainment-value (both low), the complete trust and support of the local media for the first ~5 years, and now his upcoming FIVE year extension and all that job security...
Yes, he's by far the worst GM in the league. Just garbage hockey and garbage hockey moves.
Worst drafting/development in the league since he started, same holes as the team he inherited except now it's older and has less depth, no identity...
