I just realized if it wasn’t for the gloves, the blue pants actually don’t look too bad with the away jersey. If you actually hold your thumbs over the two gloves so that you just can’t see what color they are it looks normal lol.

I'm with ya. I think the change is making it seem worse than it really is for some. But I really don't think the blue looks that bad at all really.

This is the best. Pants and gloves should be the same color as the fleurs de lys on the jersey.

Looks damn good.

I'll just say it again... Anything but Black pants is incredibly dumb. Jerseys look decent, the full outfit is awful with the stupid pants though. Gloves should 100% be Black as well.

I see you are man of culture as well.
Distaste and disregard for beauty has spread over these boards like a plague, its just us now, last shining beacons of reason :)

Do you mean beacons of principled resistance to change?

I would not mind change if it was a good one. I could not be happier when they dumped aprons in favor of Adidas jerseys. Or i recall back in the early days Avs playing in white jerseys and black helmets. I was not into this stuff back then, but if i was, i would definitely approve the change to white helmets, as that was positive change.
Anyway, this is not such case, this is visual, aesthetical downgrade 1000 percent.

Has anyone received their jersey from altitude Authentics?

edit: the reason I am asking is because their are rumours and speculation going around that the jerseys from Altitude are vinyl/screen printed despite being advertised as “authentic”. I cancelled my Altitude order today.

I ordered my authentic from Altitude and every single patch and number is stitched.

Are the numbers single layer stitched vinyl or properly stitched twill? Also, was the numbering custom or one of the players in the list?

Oh I guess some of them are like vinyl patches... it was a Makar so player on the list. My buddy ordered a MacKinnon and those got delayed, he got an email from Altitude that they apparently showed up from the manufacturer without the 'A', so had to be sent back.

But the 8's for Makar are vinyl, but they're not 'iron-ons', nor are they ironed on anywhere on it. Everything is stitched through the main jersey material. The fleur de lis are a bit better quality material than the numbers (they are a thin fabric). And of course, the main Nords logo is nice quality (not like the logos on the cheaper breakaway jerseys).

I'll see if I can attach a pic or two sometime later tonight

So the material for the numbers is a little thin, but it’s still stitched. Overall I’m happy with the quality

The price of that jersey if it's not full authentic twill stitched isn't even remotely worth it.
I’m far from knowledgeable when it comes to jerseys. Especially hockey jerseys. Being from Florida and now in Austin, it’s not commonplace. In fact, this is the first jersey I’ve ever purchased. What are some cons with it not being twill? How do I care/clean said Jersey? It seemed quality to me when throwing it on but I wouldn’t know. I don’t miss a game from the house. It’s only a matter of time when the Avs win a big game and I convince myself it’s bc I have the jersey on. It’ll soon become the norm and I’m sure it’ll see it’s fair share of local craft on or around it.

It’s just a cheaper material on the numbers. It’s a flatter darker color, the twill would match the logo and pop more. I don’t think it means it will wear out faster or anything like that but if you are paying close to $300 for something then wouldn’t you like what you were expecting. If y’all get the jersey and it doesn’t bother you that’s fine! There’s certainly an element of bird in the hand with this jersey too, it’s not like it’s easy to go order another with the low availability and who knows how long to get that one in hand. If mine came vinyl I’d probably keep it TBH because I value not having a hassle to fix it all.

Still disappointing that they’d characterize something as authentic and not provide that. I wouldn’t care that much about the arm numbers but the giant ones on the back are that way too I presume? Are other teams experiencing this or did they just cheap out on the Avs ones? I don’t think it’s the Avs’ fault here, they sold what they received but the folks who handle merch all the time should have noticed this. I saw a breakaway regular home jersey at the store the other day and while their numbers aren’t the thick twill it wasn’t vinyl either, it was more of a thin soft fabric, which for the price I thought was decent. I have vinyl numbers on a “fashion” jersey I have, it’s a black Landeskog with burgundy and silver. It doesn’t bother me on that one but it’s obv not a main jersey nor characterized “authentic”. Also examining my closet, both jerseys I’ve bought at sporting goods stores have vinyl numbers, so it’s not something that’s easily detected.

Intercontinental shipping and customs correction is too complicated of a process. I think I'll just keep it. But nevertheless, the customization is atrocious.

E: All in all it looks pretty cool. It's just that I know it could have so easily been a better one. I think I'll eventually resort to my favorite out - pay out the ass for another one.

Do we know if this is just how these jerseys are made? Could be an Adidas thing like their perforated numbers on the Stars and other teams numbers.

Not the case. Canadian teams and other providers sell multi-layered. And the Avs teaser photos are legit. It's definitely a Fanatics/Adidas merch problem.

But it's still a flex in Finland, so I'll live. :sarcasm:

Damn, yeah they still look great. I wouldn't be too disappointed with that beaut.
