The team is its own worst enemy.

Decades of players, coaches, GMs, presidents, owners, philosophies, strategies, etc. Nothing works. Everyone in a leadership role is out for themselves. The league sees the franchise as a cash cow and nothing more, willing to openly spit on them, because they know they will get their money no matter what.

Bettman looks at the Leafs and sees dollar signs. Owners and managment look at the Leafs and sees dollar signs. The media looks at the Leafs and sees dollar signs. The players look at the Leafs and see dollar signs. The fans bend over and hope something will change.

And there's not even any f***ing real fans in the arena! We have what is hands down the worst environment in an arena in the entire league. They'll always make fantastic totals on the gate thanks to rich corporate folks who know jack shit about hockey.

What do the fans get when they finally get a perennial postseason team? They go against a team who's owner is literally the boss of the NHL commissioner who lets some 6'9" ogre run around punching our star players in the back of the head with absolutely no punishment whatsoever.

We're not ready yet and I'm willing to wait while keeping faith in upper management instead of whinging that the sky is falling and to blow half the team up.

Not one word but "lack of desire/willingness". It is what you can see in a team which already won everything. For example in soccer, Real and Barca. After a couple of years they needed fresh blood etc. The motivation was kind of gone.

Except this team haven't even won 1 playoff round.

A coach that has been tuned out, and a team where there is no accountability in the dressing room, too much youth, our stars are coasting and wont be motivated by the effort of 4th liners.

The lazy poke checks to players....Nylander play last night was inexcusable. Two nights ago when AM had the three Point night he did the same thing to his man who ended up scoring the tying or winning goal. Until the TML make a commitment to actually playing D this team will go nowhere.

This may not be popular but Nylander has to go. Kap was flying last night and since his first 5 games has been a difference maker. He may not have the pure skill Nylander has but he has more heart, is committed to D, plays PK, And plays with some edge. Mikheyev has also been more of a standout than Nylander IMO. Can he handle a promotion up who knows but he will certainly be cheaper if we extend him.

We need a top 4 RHD and we need cap space, moving a 7 million dollar a year winger could do both of those. Do it before we lose another year.
