Thanks for your response. I'm not a server hardware expert, but I've used other busy forums that do not have the constant issues that plague HF, so assumed it was in part at least, a server hardware issue. Especially so since the problems have sky-rocketed since the migration.

I don't know the typical volume of users, but I have seen issues here on
regular days at irregular hours. I'm assuming that the bulk of the work is DB read/write and RAM and cache hungry.

I do know that Client side RAM usage appears higher than typical sites, and I'm speculating that is in large part to the advertising element, possibly the server is also burdened.

Most of the time the site is fine; however during these "big" moments you have a lot of people trying to refresh this site at the same time. It essentially becomes like a ddos attack.

There are obviously other issues & they (webmasters) are working on it.

Everyone is frustrated not just the users.

The forum is behind a load balancer and currently both instances behind it are out of sync. So sometimes you refresh, end up on one instance and there are posts and threads that are not on the other instance. It's funny because it's true.

Yeah, posts and threads are disappearing and reappearing with a refresh. It's happening everywhere. Mods aren't spared.

One server is apparently lagging. They're working on it.

HF is still a mess for me tonight as well. I click on threads and sometimes get the message "The requested thread could not be found" and I see no posts. I refresh the page and try again and can then see the posts in the thread. Posts in threads are also disappearing and on the next refresh they sometimes re-appear.

Trying to use HF the past couple of days as been a disappointing and frustrating experience.

The quick solution is to disable or put the bad server offline and run single threaded but you of course run the risk of a complete failure if the primary goes down.

why can't anyone communicate with us the real issues and how long this garbage is going to last? are they even prepared for July 1? Are they prepared for even a mid-level signing that'll happen on July 5th or something? The only communication we had was about this https thing, but that solves absolutely nothing.

maybe someone did communicate it and I just can't see it, because the site is deciding which posts I can see apparently depending on what refresh I'm on

This new server is crazy.. Can I express my frustrations here? It's just all over the place like I can't even pinpoint all the problems because they are always fresh and always changing. For instance as I type this I'm looking at essentially a blank page with a duplicate of the page numbers at the top. Other random problems are:

Double posts all the time
Mixing up the order of posts
Not being able to quote
Not being able to reply
Not being able to access the site entirely
My notification bell showing a red dot when I have no notifications
Not being able to like a post

It's just all over the place honestly, the problems are so different and like I said alway's changing, the type of problems I've never seen on any website.

I like how there's a push to get people to subscribe.

The sponsors should get a couple months free as the owner(s) clearly aren't spending as much as they should on servers.

This entire Website is Un-Useable(or whatever name you can come up with).

I doubt it's a case of a server "lagging" as it was stated earlier.

But really....I don't care what the reason is.

I, along with many out there, just want this to be resolved soon.

In the meantime, I'll take a short break away from this place(maybe I'll give it a few more days....like AFTER July 1st) and hope it's fixed by that time.

the coding on this site is so ****

It's funny because the order of your exact post has been jumbled all over from my perspective. It was an old post 5 minutes ago, now it's a new post.

BRING BACK THE OLD SITE! BRING BACK THE OLD SITE! IT wasn't broke! why'd you replace it!

Shut the f***ing site down if you can't run it. don't bring it back until everything is fixed. consider it a lockout.

This is a joke, even for HF.

At this point I'm guessing they get most traffic in times like these because people want info on prospects, rumors, etc...

If site doesn't hold up it affects their business so they're failing themselves.

@HBDay Looks like the issue has been resolved.....(although the reshuffling of the posts happens from time to time which is annoying)

Hopefully, come July 1st(Free-agency), the site won't go Looney-Tunes again.

Yeah that was something else though. I'd never seen anything like that. I was pretty sure the mods couldn't moderate at one point or at least moderate effectively so I was going to start saying some effed up ish to prove a point that if they don't fix the problem I could probably say anything I want. Not everyone would see it because the problems were so severe, but some people would have lol. but I thought better of my descision.

Posts still all out of order. July 1st is gonna be a massacre. Thankfully it’s supposed to be a nice day.
