Just got back from Rogue I. Is it weird of me to say that my biggest takeaway from the movie is: "OMG I SWEAR TO ***** that Tarkoff is ****ing Peter Cushing!!!"

Srsly. I can't find who actually played him, but I swear to **** that it is actually somehow Peter Cushing. He is one of my all time favorite actors and they look identical.

Was it Cushing's voice? I swear that was the same person. Or voice rather I guess.

He was physically acted and voiced by Guy Henry, and then a CGI face was masked over to transform Henry into Cushing. They did the same thing with Princess Leia at the end.

On first watch I had kind of an "uncanny valley" reaction, but on second watch it blended right in.

this website is a trainwreck on mobile

the mobile version of the site is trash, and trying to use the desktop version is painful due to the way it loads and then shifts around a bit and the fullpage ads that show up 50% of the time that you can't do anything about if you already zoomed in

Anyone else getting lots of 404 errors on mobile?

Yep, I also get a lot of "error on page, reloading" messages on desktop and laptop.

The worst are the stupid ads that take up the screen. I get it, but that doesn't mean I don't like it.

I know cross-board quoting is against the rules, so I won't, but if you can find it, there is a pretty funny argument going on in the lounge that all started when I pointed out (correctly mind you), that stuffing that has never been inside a turkey is called dressing.

So after seeing the God awful performance by Mariah Carey last night (who I can't stand in the first place), I read an article that the producers were concerned she'd even show up on time so they hired a team to make sure she did. The reason for their concern?

The panic was sparked when producers asked what time she would arrive. According to the New York Post, Carey's people replied, 'What time exactly does the ball drop?'

She looked out of it even during her interview before she went on stage. Or maybe that's just how she always is, I don't know. Either way, that was a complete disaster.

I'm convinced Mariah Carey is all-around dumb. Some of her interviews give me the impression that she has a head full of hot air.

She can sing though. Those high notes at the end.

guys

you know what is awesome?

when it snows a bunch over a few days but only like less than half of the ppl on ur street shovel their sidewalks

and even the ones that do

do it only like every other day and at different intervals

so if you try to walk anywhere every ~25 feet the snow changes in height, density, slipperiness, viscosity, and tensile strength so it becomes like running a gauntlet

so instead you take your chances dodging traffic and walk down the road because that at least that is clear

also i swear nobody except me trims their trees in calgary so walking down the sidewalk leaves you vulnerable to being attacked by an evergreen while you are busy watching your feet so you do not fall in the ever changing snow

Speaking of snow, I imagine the next snowstorm we get will be similar to this
