I was in Edmonton for New Years. It wasn't actually that bad, maybe -10 Celsius. The Rogers Center looks unreal from the outside and i hear it's great inside too.

Ice is the worst. I hate driving the couple of nights/mornings after a storm. Around here only main roads are plowed so it can get sketchy as everything melts and then freezes again.

The last time I bought a gas station burrito, a greenish black puff of smoke came out when I tore it open. Turned out to be mold spores. Haven't bought one since.

It's the same here, I don't get. Second it starts to snow, the milk and bread shelves are wiped out.

Went to the Harris Teeter in Wakefield at lunch to grab a few things we forgot last night. The checkout line wrapped all the way around the front of the store. I almost put everything back and left, until I saw the self-checkout line was only about 10 minutes.

Also, with this being my first snowstorm as a homeowner, I needed to buy a shovel. It took me three tries to find a store that had any. The Ace in Falls River is constantly unboxing them to keep them on their shelves.

I've got enough water, soda, and (most importantly) beer to at least get me through the weekend. After that, it's Mad Max, but with snow.
