How many Harts & Art Ross’s for McDavid?

If McDavid wins the Art Ross, does he get to be the best player next year by grace, like Crosby did?

Yes. Which was the entire point last off-season. Being "best player in the league" is earned by being at or near the top multiple seasons, not just one. It separates the truly "best" and those who had one career year but who aren't otherwise considered the best every year (ie. Kane, Henrik Sedin, Jamie Benn, etc.).

Impossible to tell. Crosby was the best player in the NHL for almost a decade but the lockout/injuries saw to it that he’d only get 2. McDavid will get anywhere between 1 and 6, probably. Hart is even more unpredictable because it’s an ambiguous award with a bunch of factors.

No doubt...you were just oblivious to what you were seeing I guess. Let's talk again after McDavid's 60 goal season. I love McDavid but 30% is asinine.
93/93 93/93 21 players with 100 points or more 5 players with 60 goals or more 2 players with 70 goals or more 10 players with 120 points or more real good comparing lol and McDavid in this tighter checking better goaltending era McDavid has 33 non power goals Bure Rocket winning season 35

1999-2001 had lower GPG than 2016-2018 when Bure scored 58 in 74 and 59 in 82. 80 even-strength goals over those two seasons as well. McDavid hasn't even scored 80 EVG in his career yet.

So lockouts and injuries were the only thing eh?

As to McDavid he will def win more Ross' than Hart's. Maybe five to three.......

Who cares Bure never won a Hart Artross Or Lindsay McDavid leads NHL in even strength goals his 3rd season and is not even known as a elite goal scorer , Bure does not hold McDavids jock strap and funny you can only list Stats for Bure 10/11 seasons into his career , lets see what Mcdavid does by than bcause I have a feeling he will have 10-15 more hardware in his trophy case you seem to forget this is his 3rd year lol he is 21

Are you suggesting that he wouldn't likely have more had he not been injured so often?

You said lockouts and injuries but they weren't the ONLY thing that prevented him from winning more awards. He's played seven full seasons of his career where he didn't win either of the Hart or Art Ross trophies.

"Better goaltending" my butt. Today's goalies drop to their knees every time a forward enters their zone. Bure scored against Roy, Brodeur, Belfour, and Hasek. McD is scoring against goddamn Mike Smith. No red line, no slashing, no hooking, and no head shots.

McDavid has about 30% of Bure's goalscoring touch.

I didn't make that post, but what would the other things be? Yes, other players can still take awards away in healthy years, but it's still likely he wins more than he did if he was healthy

With around 0% of Bure's floating around the blue line/cherrypicking.

Bure couldn't do that if he tried in his day because of the two-line pass rule (yeah you were probably exagerrating) but early in his career he was not a floater or a cherrypicker, he was a hard nosed player who played responsibly in all zones until injury and getting moved to a team where they relied on him for offense a ton. McDavid is very good defensively but he cheats a lot, much like Bure did because guess what, players that smart and that fast are able to and it works to their advantage.

A lot depends on injuries. Everyone was ready to hand Sid the next 10 art rosses after 06-7 and look how that turned out. In fairness, had he stayed healthy he probably gets at least 2 more. But so it goes.

What Mcdavid has going for him in his favor is there is no clear generational player he's gonna be battling with for scoring titles. Crosby had Ovechkin to contend with who was every bit as good as he was for most of his prime. I don't see a young guy out there right now likely to match or better Mcdavid season after season like OV did with Sid. Laine is sick but doesn't have the point potential OV had. Mackinnon is great but who knows if he can sustain this moving forward. Kucherov is 3 years older than Connor. Sid/Geno are moving out of their primes. etc.

He's got a very favorable set of conditions for winning scoring titles. So if he stays healthy and another phenom doesn't enter the league soon, he's in good shape.

Wow, what a terrific audience.

If I had to guess based on the kind of competition he is likely to have. If healthy he should land one every single year his speed is still there. No one can keep up with him at this point and he isn't in his peak until around 22 likely. Really talented guys seem to peak a bit earlier then most. Gretz peaked at 21, Lemieux 23, Ovechkin 22.

He doesn't have his Ovechkin/Malkin to challenge him yet, although if Mackinnon's explosion is permanent, he might have a true rival for the next decade.
