Suffice it to say, that was a disappointing end.

We have way too many passengers on this team....five of which play in our top six.

Should Sweeney bite the bullet and initiate a massive rebuild? Or is this team a couple of pieces away?

This loss stings more than 2013. And the main reason we lost is the same as we did then...the core.

NEED attitude.. The B's are a really good team BUT too much of the same thing. Coyle was a good trade but too little, too late. They need(ed) a big center who can play and a big right wing. Love Gryz and Krug BUT one needs to go IMO. The B's were very lucky to get to the finals but lets face it they never would've gotten past TBL and/or the Caps. They played their hearts out but just don't have enough beef. Unfortunately Rask will never get the respect that he deserves even though I respect him people will put much of the blame on him (in this instance I commend him). They need to move Krejci. He's now simply too much $$$, too old, for not enough production. All this and Backes is too old and beaten up to produce, like, at all. Free up space, leave the first line alone, rebuild the second line and go from there.

Don’t need to tear it down and start all over, after all, SCF is not too bad. They gave it all throughout the playoffs including game 7. Outshot Blues by a wide margin. Give credit to the ex Providence goaltender. He was #1 star in this game.

Make a few adjustments for next year to keep the drum beating for another run. Need to replace Johansson and Acciari. Can afford to trade a defenseman and forward to acquire a young veteran RW for DKs line.

Looking forward to Studnicka, Bjork and Vaakanainen moving up next year.

Sorry, but what a stupid thread, unless you're of the opinion that this was the last hurrah for this group as they somehow have gone passed their prime. However, rather than "How do we rebuild", it's how do they bounce back to make another deep run next year after finishing hockey in June this year? It's damn awfully hard these days for any team to go this deep in consecutive Seasons.

they don't need to blow it up, but they do need to get tougher. for all the talk about the game being faster & favoring skill players, this dogshit St. Louis team showed that dirty, physical play has diminishing returns in terms of consequences. The refs simply don't call everything. If you stick to the gameplan & just keep throwing cheap, dirty hits it WILL pay off. It's sad but true. Just f***ing cheat in this league & you'll outlast most teams in a 7 game series if you have just enough skill mixed in.

We all know the Bruins have terrible ice & a bad reputation so they might as well just lean into it. Part of their problem right now is that their style of play doesn't pair well with their terrible, swampy home ice conditions or with the way the refs call their games. The 2011 team had it right. Elite PK allows you to just do whatever you want because you can just kill the penalties. Most of the game is played at 5 on 5 so you can't rely on the PP, even if it's an ungodly 30+%. You just can't. In the biggest of games you're not getting calls. We saw it in game 5 against Tampa last year and again tonight. Depriving a team like this of powerplays is like starving a fire of oxygen.

So yeah, this team needs to get bigger & meaner and make that work for them 5 on 5.

Team is too small across the board. There was not one player on this roster shortnof Coyle that could win puck battles with regularity and not forward that would take the puck or a path to the net. All cross Ice passes and finesse crap.

When it turned into a mans game, the Bruins came up short. We need a couple more guys that can impose their will to go with the skill.

In a perfect world.

- Find a way to move Backes, even if they eat some money.

- Use some assets to get a true 2RW (Hall).

- Make a decision on Krug, and frankly the logjam on D as a whole.

- Re-sign Johansson if they have a reasonable deal. He's a perfect middle six winger.

They desperately need a top 6 C prospect in the system. Love Studnicka, but not sure if hes that.

Sorry, but this team is f***ing great. One loss won't make me go back on that. They should have won this year and there's no need to blow it up.

MoJo is gone, no doubt. We need a 2nd line winger to play with DeBrusk and Krejci, we never got that. Need a depth player to shore up the 3rd line and replace MoJo.

Win or lose I want them to get bigger on defense. Guys like Lauzon and Vaakanainen should get some ice time next year. Lauzon is a physical D, Clifton is physical.

Anyone that thinks they should trade the whole core is out to lunch, because the grass isn’t greener on the other side of that scenario.

this is 100% right. size still matters in this league & the Bruins need more of it.

I like Heinen & think he's a hell of a smart player, but he's redundant. I'd like to see his spot & the 2nd line RW spot filled with a little more size & net drive. The tricky thing is it can't just be size for the sake of size. No Pat Maroons or Backes, but they do need more size mixed in with the skill.

And the first line needs to be broken up. They are immensely skilled, but it's a regular season line unless we find out all 3 guys were playing with broken legs or something.
