Reminder...

IMPORTANT STATEMENT REGARDING DRAFT!

As you know, IslesRock4 will be in charge of the draft. I can now officially announce that the draft will be on Sathurday starting at noon (might be delayed a few hours). The draft will be the 1st and 2nd round.

15 minutes will be awarded for a team to make their choice. If you don't plan on being there or aren't sure of it, you are asked to PM a list to IslesRock4 and he will make the selection for you. If you fail to send a list and your 15 minutes is pass, IR4 will make a auto pick using the latest ISS ranking.

The rest of the draft order will be based on the final standings voted by GMs but the Stanley Cup champ will get the 30th pick.

The Stanley Cup champion will be crown this Friday in the early afternoon so GMs will be free to make trades and get ready for the draft.

Couple of quick comments:

Lol at Habs winning...I mean really now that is a joke. Congrats though.

The whole "might be a few hours late" thing in the draft post is pretty worrisome. If you are mandating a live-draft with 15 minute time limits then you must give people a firm time in which the draft will start. I don't think any of us is going to be willing to sit around our computer refreshing HF for hours waiting for a draft. If you can't do the draft within 30 or 45 minutes of the start time then it needs to be rescheduled.

Don't worry man, I'll be sitting here ready for the draft at 12:00 PM EST sharp. I'll make the list and get everything ready in the morning. It's just a matter of how many people will show up. But it will not be delayed.

Sounds good to me. I'm certainly not expecting the draft to start the second noon rolls around but I just didn't want to be stuck waiting hours for a draft or have to use a PMed list to draft. Thanks. :handclap:

Alright, alright.

After going to work and having this on my mind all day and seeing the comments, I've come to the decision of what I should have done and strongly considered this afternoon. And that is to name the Detroit Red Wings the Stanley Cup champions.

Last thing I want is a whining fest and I can see it happening when more GMs come online during the weekend.

The big winner in this is.....the Toronto Maple Leafs! They will have a ealry/mid 20 pick instead of the 30th pick from the Tomas Kaberle trade, so congrats to them.

Also seeing that I will be the agent for all UFA to be in this game (no I don't need help, it will only make a mess selecting players for agents), I have no choice but to announce that the Montreal Canadiens work is done for this game. We have signed a few UFA and our RFA so we will be going into the 2009-2010 season with what we currently have.

I think (hope) that will make everyone happy.

I need to whine, I'm a Rangers fan:)

And Saku I'm pretty much done with Atlanta besides the draft I can help with the lower-tier FA's

Very disappointed with the attendance rate of the draft. Huge thanks to the GMs that popped in to keep me company from time to time.

Is Free Agency Open Now? Is there going to be a list of Players and their agents representing them?

Sorry for not making it to the draft yesterday but I had a Minor Hockey Tournament that I was spending a lot of my time as a Referee and my championship game for indoor soccer was also yesterday so no chance to get away for the draft.
