Correction.
Tiny Thompson of the Boston Bruins has the Record for most saves in an NHL Playoff game with 114 in a Semi-final against the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1933 when Ken Doraty of Stittsville, Ontario
put one by Thompson in the 6th Overtime.
In fact I was raised in Stittsville as a kid and remember a street sign name after me right behind our House named Doraty Lane.

Yep, Niedermayer’s on this list.

The others: Darren McCarty and Claude Lemieux.

Lemieux, you’ll recall, made that comeback with the Sharks in 2008-09. All four of his Cups were pre-Lockout.

Lemieux is what got me. Easy enough to forget about his Sharks comeback, though.

Since 1990, there have been, by my count, four (4) Stanley Cup Finals in which neither finalist had a player playing in the series who was facing a former team of his.

One was the 1996 Stanley Cup Finals, in which there were no ex-Panthers on the Avs or ex-Avs on the Panthers. (Not counting Mike Hough, who was an ex-Nordique.)

Which were the other finals?

It's fairly well known that Jacques Plante was the first goalie to regularly wear a mask. Who was the 2nd goalie to adopt the face mask?

This is a question that I don't know the answer to, and was wondering if someone here does:

In Doug Wilson's entry in THN's 100 Greatest Defencemen magazine, it says that Wilson is one of five people who have played 1000 games in the NHL, and served as a NHL General Manager for 1000 games.

I'm guessing Bobby Clarke and Bob Pulford would be two of them. Does anybody know the others?

Bob Gainey has to be one and Bob Murray might be the other. Not a lot of name variety.

Who was the last on-ice official from the Original 6 to retire from the NHL?

I checked into linesman Neil Armstrong. He started in November 1957 and retired in 1978, working 1,744 games.

John D'Amico was my second choice.

From Wikipedia:

John David D'Amico (September 21, 1937 – May 29, 2005) was a National Hockey League (NHL) linesman and later supervisor of officials.
A native of Toronto and graduate of De La Salle College, D'Amico's NHL career started as a referee on October 12, 1964, when he was 27 years old. He refereed only 19 games before becoming a linesman.

At the time of his retirement after the 1987 season, D'Amico was the last on-ice official active during the Original Six era. D'Amico's career included 1,689 regular season games, four All-Star games, including the 1979 Challenge Cup and Rendez-vous '87, and 247 Stanley Cup playoff games, including 52 Stanley Cup Finals

Yes it was D'Amico.

First game was Oct 12/64 at Boston Garden.

According to my source he actually started as a lineman, then worked briefly as a referee before returning to the lines.

He was called the rock of the officiating corps and worked more than 1700 NHL games.

In 1982 he stopped a puck with his arm and continued to work, x-rays after the game revealed his arm was broken.

D'Amico appeared in over 20 Stanley Cup finals.

Handled the lines at 7 all-star games including 1971, 1973, 1976, 1978, 1980, 1984 and 1986.

He officiated at the 1976, 1981, 1984 and 1987 Canada Cup tournaments as well as the 1979 Challenge Cup and 1987 Rendez-Vous.

Worked his last NHL game March 5, 1988 and then worked as a member of NHL's Supervisory Staff ascting as an officiating coach.

1991–92 season P. Bure & T. Linden were teammates in the NHL on the Canucks, while V. Bure & Jamie Linden were teammates in the WHL on the Spokane Chiefs.

In Scott Stevens' 13 seasons with the Devils, he was the captain in all but one of those years.

Who was the other player not named #4 to wear a C in the greatest era in team history?

2010s - Rangers v Capitals? 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015

Yep, the Rangers and Capitals met 4x in the playoffs during the 2010s. There was actually one other playoff matchup which equaled this (hint: Western Conference).

Three pairs of teams met 4x in the playoffs during the 2000s---more often than any others, by my count

I'll take a guess without looking:

2010s: Rangers/Caps, Canucks/Hawks
2000s: Leafs/Senators, Flyers/Sabres, Hurricanes/Devils

Bruins vs Habs (2002, 04, 08, 09)
