Imagine Edge with a rich guy, snobbish character instead of the Rated R Superstar gimmick, with the "ultimate opportunist" attached to it still. That's how I see @ColePens at this rate, including in promos when I write them out and the cadence, and even his own promos.

Even his promo here: HFWF: The Reboot III

is something I could totally see Edge say during his run as top heel in 2005-2008 if he played a rich narcissistic snob rather than the Rated R Superstar.

I'm seriously considering changing OP to different parallels after the last few weeks of booking considering the tone of promos, cadences, character shifts, etc lol

If @Falco Lombardi decides to blow up another one of my matches, I will not be able to wait until Apocalypse to give him the righteous beating he deserves.

And if you mock one more sick child, then there won’t be a person alive who will save you from me.

I always assumed the parallels were just base level gimmick stuff. We all have sort of made our characters their own unique thing, or at least are building them that way.

I actually like the idea because I see multiple wrestling personas in all wrestlers. It's not like they represent 1 guy, but multiple guys. That's the cool part. There is a lot more depth to our characters than in WWE right now. Lots of depth and ability. Even looking at @Phobia Catalyst - I see a little Gargano trying to find himself there. And when he went to the dark side, a little Dean mixed in with many other wrestlers who battled that.

and for @Cor - i see a lot of Eugene in his character.....

That's true.

For example, a Fro still has his money from his previous HFWF, but kind of found his way like Kazuchika Okada and gaining respect and crowd adoration, but, again, has the money of a JBL or Ted DiBiase.

yeah, Phobia's got them layers of Gargano and a Jon Moxley in there, and now seems to be going into a "Kingpin" Dean Ambrose route (well, trying to).

Gongshow is a hybrid of legend killer 2003-2005 Randy Orton and 2008 Viper, take no prisoners Randy.

You've got elements of Edge and Ric Flair.

Scandale du Jour has Kevin Owens and Rick Rude with the mirror thing.

UnrealMachine is an intellectual Brock Lesnar (lmao)

Mitchy had elements of Gargano when he was conflicted between MCG's respect and his alliance with The Outcasts.

and that's just a few.

The irony coming from the man who blew up my All Class Title match and mocks the wrestling industry everytime you hit the ring.

I’ll see you at Apocalypse.

The booking is also closer to a more realistic wrestling setting like ROH or NJPW. NXT might be the closest. Not main roster WWE though. The booking doesn’t have as much room for Super over the top gimmicks that some of our WWE counter parts had at their peaks.

Not to say there isn’t some bollocks and silliness, but this product overall is much more grounded. Which is a good thing. I think that is where the best of modern wrestling is right now.

and also, Edge's ultimate opportunist run was so f***ing good that so many people wanted to see him get his ass kicked, whether it was by Cena, Batista, The Undertaker.

who isn't dying to see ColePens get his at this point, especially considering the way he won the title? and HOW does anyone even get to kick ColePens ass when he has KIRK, Scandale and Unreal by his side and is actively trying to recruit more people from a kayfabe perspective? Disclose damn near almost murdered the guy and still couldn't end up beating him because ColePens somehow found a way to eek out the win.

this dude's current character is a bigger asshole than my character was when I was holding @Phobia Catalyst back from the main event title picture in the first HFWF

(in my own little world i dont want anyone to kick ColePens ass but me. thats how much you made me hate him in the feud.
theyre not kidding when they say they tag you in the ****ing Pens forum... and Kirk is just gold.)

 Listen dude... we tag people everywhere! We use a lot of wrestling gifs on our Pens board and we tag any PWC opponents.

Btw - I mean even I'm dying to see me get my comeuppance so I guess all is fair in HFWF.

I didn’t see it live as I was preparing to kick @Disclose ‘s ass (As I Did), but I just saw @ColePens speech about no open challenges and contenders earning their shots, and it brought a tear to my eye. The tarnish of @Fro & @Disclose on our companies Championships needs to be corrected. I will continue that by winning the All Class Championship

Disclose vs. ColePens is up there with MCG vs. Legendary AC (@Phobia Catalyst ) from the old HFWF as one of the best HFWF rivalries ever (I’m sure Phobia can back that up since he was there for the entire first round of HFWF).

And it’s still low key going, with ColePens using Disclose’s moves when he needs as kind of a nod to the limit he pushed him to, and realizing that he needs to become an opportunist because of how good the talent under him is compared to the old days.

The ColePens character is very multi-layered and it’s by design. Plenty of the characters are designed to be multi-layered with vulnerabilities and exploits.

Low-Key, this is part of why I love The Miz. He’s incredibly multi-layered. He can be a coward heel, he can be a more serious heel, he had this weird, unique intensity in the feud with GM Bryan, especially in the Talking Smack segment, he has been a snobby cocky heel, he is now doing a swell job at being a sincere face. and he is using something he used to use to get heat, to now get him cheered, his family. He used to brag about his relationship with Maryse and then having a child with her to get heat and now he uses his family and his father, to get a face reaction.

Miz on this subtle level, reinvents himself every feud.

That’s what you have managed to do. Every new feud people have on HFWF alters them in some way, we are always learning something new. No one is assigned as a heel or a face, everything comes naturally.

My story with Chytil, went from me doing something heelish (the original attitude) then getting over (teaming up with Chytil) and then doing something heelish (taunting with body oil after early success with Chytil) and then getting over (showing in ring skill to beat Chytil) and none of it was made to stand out as “events” but rather more subtle changes that fit in smoothly and naturally along a full story.

I don’t know if that all makes sense to what I’m trying to say but I like the writing is what I’m trying to say

and I'm never ever going to reveal all the layers to characters. I'd rather people draw their own inspiration and thoughts based on the writing and depth itself rather than me saying it's this and it's that. I'd rather people read these out and flesh them out and get their own ideas of what the characters are, their vulnerabilities, their strengths, their intentions, their adversities, etc. the same way music artists say they don't want to tell people what a song is about and would rather than interpret the art in the way they want.

at the end of the day this is a collaborative creative outlet and I draw character inspiration from others as well. Ultimately, I have my own ideas but I'll try to incorporate as much input as I possibly can from those who pitch into their character and put priority to push those that are pitching and more involved, because it's more fun when I have more to draw on rather than interpret things from the handful of posts or so people make.

all characters that are regularly on the shows and involved, from the top to bottom, have several layers to them, some more than others, again, it depends on what I can pull from promos and YT exclusives and the back-and-forth banter, but I try putting effort into everyone's characters and giving them all different layers.

Random High Thought;

If we animated HFWF episodes and posted them to YouTube with all the “YouTube exclusives” and social promos also animated, with some decent promotion on Twitter and different wrestling boards, I wonder how strong of a weekly following it would garner
