They barely play him. He is the same as his AHL play...usually gets shots on net, always makes deft breakout passes, fine defensively (hasn’t been burned this season).. Oilers have too many D.

players that don't try to make a play, don't belong in pro sports. Isn't that why Dubois was traded?

if thats the case, that looks worse on Hughes than simply being beat by the best player in the league.

Quinn Hughes is atrocious on the defensive size
too small and weak as a kitten

His defensive game is definitely lacking, that’s a known. He’s also being asked to play a game he clearly isn’t comfortable with. He’s a small statured 20 year old offensive defenseman

You do realize that quite a few players called out Benning for his offseason moves, the entire team has been checked out this year. They want changes to be made

Cant blame him. They put together a nice season last year, buoyed by a great goaltender, make a nice run and really had something to build on.

Then management let’s that goalie walk, along with your D partner. They put a lot of pressure on him and other young players.

I know things are still relatively early in the Canadian division but the Oilers and Jets may just give the Leafs a run for their money.....regardless those 3 teams are certainly separating themselves slowly from the rest....
