VGK domination continues. This Sharks team looks a lot worse than last season.

Seriously, why isn’t San Jose competing with any desire or urgency?

I love Erik Karlsson but he is not what he used to be. And probably never will be again.
Sharks have a huge problem with their forwards covering for pinching defensemen. They play like they want the defense to pinch but they rarely have a forward come back deep enough when Burns, Karlsson etc pinch. Leads to tons of 2-1 situations and puck races to in the neutral zone and Sharks defensive zone.

Vegas on the other hand are extremely good at always covering for each other and their forwards are always in great defensive positions. Gallant has really made that team hard to play against. They move the puck out quickly and are always very tight in the neutral zone when the opponent attack. Hard to create chances against them.

Not sure if the Sharks are bad or Vegas is so dominant . Maybe a bit of both ?
Bit of both but I think Vegas could stand to improve. Namely, Pirri is pretty useless out there and Tuch is likely gonna switch him out when he gets healthy.

Do the blackhawks have that 1 particular team for them where they do badly in the reg season against them and then much better against them in the playoffs? Then maybe?
Lol?

Playoffs one: Lost in 6
Playoffs two: Won in 7 and needed OT to win.

At best, historically, that's a wash.

Oof. Fans are being them on their way off the ice. After two periods. In their home opener.

Hrm? I was comparing playoffs vs reg season.
You are comparing playoffs from one year to another year (?)

Check the sharks reg season % vs the knights and playoff %.
Neither sharks % is that great, but the sharks playoff % vs the knights is much higher than their reg season % against them, which is terrible..

I love hot takes like this. It's like someone saying "Obviously the Sharks win in a 7 game series against the Knights"
You missed the part about a phantom high sticking call that changed the momentum. Cause the Sharks were playing worse then they have the first two games of 2019-20 in that hockey game, and I'm sure some people were even dreaming of the golf course until that happened.

It's what happens when your two best offensive weapons are both defenseman. Vegas is a tough matchup for SJ for a lot of reasons but largely because they do such a good job of covering the points, like Stone did on that PP against EK. Gallant has done a great job with the Golden Knights of making their opponents earn every inch. They hold every line extremely well. They also support the puck as well as anybody.

The VGK should be a great blueprint for Seattle and any other team rebuilding. Depth depth and more depth. Fast young and cheap as you can get it.
