people don't realize that you don't need to have the best centre to win your matchup--you just need the best player. the sneaky trick is that the majority of best players end up being centres, so it fools everyone into thinking that you need the best centre.

ovechkin 2018 best player for capitals
kane 2015 2013 best player for hawks

some people think kessel robbed for 2016

i'll take a hall-hischier-palmieri or panarin-strome-fast over a bunch of pleb-star centre-pleb lines

Here's my final team rankings (please don't read too heavily into them, ranking 32 teams is hard):
  1. New Jersey
  2. Toronto
  3. Pittsburgh
  4. Detroit
  5. Minnesota
  6. Columbus
  7. Dallas
  8. Philadelphia
  9. Montreal
  10. Winnipeg
  11. Edmonton
  12. Florida
  13. St Louis
  14. Colorado
  15. Washington
  16. Buffalo
  17. Boston
  18. Chicago
  19. Los Angeles
  20. Anaheim
  21. Vancouver
  22. Tampa Bay
  23. Ottawa
  24. San Jose
  25. Calgary
  26. New York Rangers
  27. Carolina
  28. Vegas
  29. Arizona
  30. Seattle
  31. New York Islanders
  32. Nashville
If I didn't vote your team over a team I have ranked here though, it's matchup based. So many of these teams I have close, its mostly tier based and fluid.

Centres are important no doubt - but the Oilers have proven the last few years that having 2 of the top 5 Cs in the league doesn't automatically make you the best team in the league.

My #USERNAMEVALUE is elite.

Like who doesn't love me.

Factor this into your voting friends. :)

In all seriousness i think you have done the best job over these drafts considering the restrictions you put in place. Props!

I guess LT did so well with Dallas that he earned himself two spots in your standings lol.

That doesn’t mean the opposite is true, though.

How many teams have even made the Cup finals without a #1 C?

devils top 3 in Latvian scores, top 3 in Panda scores, top 3 in hockeynorth scores.

Can't wait to see if it will beat the eventual winner. Also makes sense that Joey's Ottawa tried to get that trade through

I think C is quite important, I've made that argument before.

For me personally it goes:

C: 30%
Wingers: 20%
D: 30%
Goalie: 20%

Goalie though can be an epic wildcard, because they're voodoo.

What were your criteria, and how did you score?

Literally just matched up teams how I like them. Get my top 2, then match every team to the top 2, so then I have top 3, are you higher or lower than 3rd? Put you there, repeat. I spend a ton of time looking at rosters and matchups, find it a ton of fun.

Also Toronto is 1st, 2nd and 6th too so I call conspiracy

Currently sitting at 20 votes. Would like at least 3 more, ideally 5 more to call the first round.

If someone wants to figure out who hasn't voted and tag them, go for it.
