I have no confidence in Zatkoff playing in any regular season game, let alone against the Hawks. Even when he's stopping pucks, he's still destroying the D's confidence in him.

That was my opinion until this year (I know most people haven't liked him for some time), but he seems to overcommit to everything this season, which is leading to a lot of unnecessary scrambles.

It's nerve-wracking to watch as a spectator, so I can only imagine what it's like for a Pens defenseman.

shouldn't we be used with this though? I mean Fleury played this style of hockey for half a decade at least under Bylsma...

he definitely flops all over the place, but he's not that bad in terms of actual numbers. considering the D in front of him his numbers are pretty much decent for a back-up.

Fleury had talent and athleticism to make up for it. Zatkoff gets way out of position and struggles to get back.

He's been very lucky so far, IMO. A few of his lower GAA games could've easily been five-spots.

It's not a big deal because Fleury gets the lion's share of starts, JZ's only under contract until the end of this year, and Murray looks more than ready, but I'm just nervous any time Zatkoff's out there.

The Pens just need to play well. Another OT or shootout basically gives them a split of the two games. That 3rd point not withstanding.

Honestly, I think getting Sheary off the 3rd line was more important than getting Porter off the 4th, but I don't feel like switching Wilson for Sheary really changes much. I can't believe Mike Sullivan watched last night and thought the top-two lines were good.

I've been against Hornqvist in the top-6, but he's absolutely earned it now, and he should be with Sid. He's winning races and battles and handling the puck well.

Perron - Sid - Hornqvist let them go for a while and spend the next few weeks finding the LW for Malkin - Kessel.
